Add another former Ravens cornerback, Khalil Dorsey. Dorsey appeared in six games (mostly on special teams) as an undrafted rookie in 2020 and then missed last season with an injury
are two street FAs that nobody, including the Giants, wanted until now. They are obviously worried about the #2 CB position, at least in terms of depth behind Robinson. That is really an indictment of the previous regime given all the draft and FA resources it spent on CBs.
seems like he'll be a back roster/practice squad type. he was in the final cuts for the ravens as a UDFA in 2020 and then went on injured reserve during camp last year.
RE: Also a system guy to help communicate what Wink may want
he's basically a UDFA+. they just got a look at all their UDFAs from this year this guy is likely on that same level talent-wise except he's been through 1.5 training camps with Wink.

All joking aside, this is exactly what it is. These guys haven't been brought in to play on Sunday, they were brought in to help "coach" and be one less person screwing up assignments during practices.
not sure a UDFA from 2020 is being brought in as a coach on the field
familiarity in the system is a leg up for him over any other marginal NFL talents still available at a low cost but i highly doubt they expect him to mentor anyone else when he's never himself even made a 53.

I'm talking about training camp, not making the team. His knowledge of the system can be shared when there's pre- and post-snap confusion during practices and whenever teammates have questions. The more people in the locker room and on the practice field with a knowledge of the system the better. They don't have to stick in order for them to be useful for training camp when there are always gonna be guys at the very bottom of the 90-man roster who are just practice bodies.
in reading up on him it looks like he was actually reasonably well thought of in BAL. In both his training camps he was on the bubble despite a deep CB room. Without any additional moves I'd probably bet he and Canady make the 53.
Little-known Ravens CB Khalil Dorsey has the special gift of giving (Baltimore Sun) - ( New Window )

LOL. I am actually hoping this kid doesnt make the roster which would be a sign that our CBs are better tan we think.
Strike that, according to Pro Football Reference, 5 snaps.
Nothing wrong with it.

This is a good way to look at it.
