Vasil 7 innings 2 hits 0 er 0 walks 11 k's (best start as a pro and arguably the best start any Mets SP has had this season. His K's prior to this start have been meh but he's certainly lived up to the "good buzz coming into the season, should be promoted pretty soon)
Ramirez 2-5, 2B
Lee 1-4, BB, 2 k's
ODLS 2-4, 3 steals (20 on the season), K
Consuegra 2-4, 2b, 2 k's
Is de Los Santos much of a prospect? He's 22 in A, but those steals are certainly intriguing. If he is defensively adequate, it would be nice if he could develop into a 4th/5th OF type. Essentially what the Mets were hoping of Khalil Lee.
No disagreement here but if you want to be "positive" because he signed late (and lose 2020) he's only had 486 career AB's despite being 22 (23 in August) but yeah, that's going to be important for him.

Very tough to say. As Mike pointed out... he doesn't walk much (37 career walks, 133 k's over 486 career ab's and he's 23 in August) but he's a raw athlete and you never know with those guys.
Why is he still in St. Lucie?
Why is he still in St. Lucie?
Teams very rarely promote their better prospects before June (small sample size). If you want to be critical, his walk rate is only 3.5% and his BABIP is .438. He's been a true breakout prospect but not real issue from me waiting this long. What's the rush? He's not going to help the 2022 Mets, if he plays well in A+ he'll be on track to open next season as a 20 year old in AA ala Alvarez.

You know Ramirez has had an amazing start when 2-5 with a 2Bis categorized as part of the "meh"..

Thanks! Good context.
