#Giants OL coach Bobby Johnson- feliciano learned how to prep for each game from rodney hudson....great value in this and how he can help other prep..he has a daily ship on shoulder and plays with an edge - nickname him "dirtbag" because of how he plays and glowinski does, too

Kafka—-“I’m really enjoying working with Daniel”
uh oh. Some people aren't going to like that!
Why? Do you think there are posters who believed Daboll's first comments about working with Jones would be "Man, that guy is really an a**hole!"
You know nobody on this site actively hates Daniel Jones, right?
Maybe not as a person, but some sure hate the idea that he's getting another chance (with improved OL, coaching, receiving talent, hopefully healthy SB, addition by subtraction of a certain TE who couldn't catch, etc.)
@giantswfan
#Giants OL coach Bobby Johnson on Neal - must balance expectations with developing him....are high expectations on him and he puts too much pressure on himself - i tell him not to do it and try to develop him
As of today Jamil Douglas is likely destined to the PS along with MBaeteka, and possibly Rivas.
I sure hope we have better options than Garcia
GiantsWFAN
@giantswfan
#Giants OL coach Bobby Johnson- neal wants to be really good and that is always the first thing - in our visit that is when i knew it would be good if team picked him
@giantswfan
#Giants OL coach Bobby Johnson- doesnt feel pressure, rather he feels responsibility to perform for the ownership....wants mentally tough and physically tough OL - and be smart....dont want guys who guess
@giantswfan
#Giants OL coach Bobby Johnson- be available to get your reps...if you are not, somebody else will get those reps
Bredeson at C to save his job.
@giantswfan
#Giants OL coach Bobby Johnson- coaches/players can have scar tissue because of the past...told these guys he will not talk about the bills and they should not live in their past - just learn from it
Sure, because they signed a couple of free agents who can play center.
I sure hope we have better options than Garcia
Same here, not counting Gates or Peart being back yet I hope the backup spots are OT/G Matt Gono, LT/G Josh Ezeudu, G/C Ben Bredeson, and G Marcus McKethan.
Red jersey.
@giantswfan
#Giants OL coach Bobby Johnson- knows what coach daboll wants and he must live up to it....and players must bring positive energy into the building and give effort

It isn't like we have a ton of options. I don't see anything interesting with the OL outside of maybe Ezeudu at LT with the 2nd unit.
Sure, because they signed a couple of free agents who can play center.
But who? We have like all vet min guys. Feliciano was signed to be our C. After that? It's anybody's job.
It's just interesting that Brederson is playing back-up center when they signed a couple of guys who have already done it.
That's all.
Because he hasn't played center before and he's playing there over veterans Max Garcia and Jamil Douglas who have experience there.
@giantswfan
#Giants OL coach Bobby Johnson- lemieux doing a great job...calls him "frenchy"...had high grade on him at oregon and wanted to coach him....working at a high level so far...on proper trajectory...no physical limitations

I am? Lol. I am just curious why others are so curious about it.
Not by me. IIRC Eric has also mentioned him multiple times as a player many fans are sleeping on.
@GiantInsider
Bobby Johnson—“Frenchy (Shane Lemieux is doing everything I ask him to do”
Johnson calls him Frenchy because of Lemieux’s last name and skinny mustache lol. All good fun

Bobby Johnson, #Giants O-line coach. Football guy.
Says his nickname for center Jon Feliciano is “Dirtbag” because that’s how he plays, that’s how he wants him to play.
And if guys don’t play that way, they won’t play for him.

That's fine. Maybe I had different expectations but Bredeson was one competing for the backup C position. I'm not sure why I have that in my head unless we saw or read about it somewhere already.

Giants OL coach Bobby Johnson said he writes “Dirtbag” when putting center Jon Feliciano’s name on the depth chart every day. It’s a term of endearment. Johnson said his OL need to play with an edge like Feliciano or they won’t play.

Bunch of players in red jerseys today (signifying some level of injury concern): WR Kadarius Toney, WR Kenny Golladay, WR Sterling Shepard, WR Collin Johnson, WR Richie James, WR Austin Proehl, OL Andrew Thomas, OL Nick Gates, OL Matt Peart, OL Jamil Douglas, OLB Quincy Roche…
ILB Blake Martinez, ILB Cam Brown, ILB TJ Brunson and CB Rodarius Williams.
WR Wan’Dale Robinson (rookie symposium), TE Ricky Seals-Jones (personal) and DL Dexter Lawrence (personal) were absent.

The first minicamp before the draft was the first time that Bredeson played center and there wasn't any discussion about him moving there prior which was interesting but we didn't discuss it much because we assumed it was just a temporary thing. The fact that he's at center again is interesting and it could be a sign that Bobby Johnson likes his potential there or it could just be the new staff giving an opportunity to a player that is on the roster bubble to increase his chances by providing more versatility.
WR Kenny Golladay
WR Kadarius Toney
WR John Ross

WTF, that's basically the entire group of WR's missing. On the flip side this was a great opportunity for Slayton, Robert Foster, and David Sills to prove themselves. It sounds like Foster is the one who has taken advantage the most.

You can do a lot worse than garcia as IOL depth. He did start on a pretty good offense last year.
Bredeson at C to save his job.
Ezeudo was drafted because he is versatile. Kafka and Daboll said the playbook is coming fast, so makes sense for him to be playing both - Tackle in OTAs allows the coaches to see what he can do.

I wonder if he writes "Pussy" next to Peart's name.
When it comes to OL, "Dirtbag" >>> "Pussy".

Ojulari said you can’t get away with just speed in the NFL. You need power.

#Giants #Williams - watching Thibs and likes what he sees so far....he is always quick to help teammates

Leo Williams is impressed with Thibodeaux
@Dan_Salomone
Leonard Williams said he’s been paying special attention to Thibodeaux. “I’m liking what I’m seeing so far.” He’s one of the first people to volunteer for things in practice, which Williams notices.
@giantswfan
#Giants #Williams - thought Thibs would be a character from TV but he is humble....has great speed and pass rush IQ...he will help defense a lot...much confidence in him and ojulari to occupy attention outside
@giantswfan
#Giants #Williams - Thibs seems to have a good understanding of what moves to use and how to read an offensive lineman's sets
Dan Salomone
@Dan_Salomone
Leonard Williams praises Thibodeaux’s pass rush IQ. He knows when to speed around the corner or beat someone inside. He can read offensive linemen’s sets.
@giantswfan
#Giants #Williams - the whole team feels different....really goood competition on both sides of the ball...guys excited to come to work and be with teammates and coaches
@Dan_Salomone
Leonard Williams there’s a “contagious energy” within the team right now and it’s reflecting in practice.

@giantswfan
#Giants #Williams - wink is aggressive like everyone thought....he makes the offense react instead of vice versa for us....and one of the funniest guys...he helps to form a family envirionment
Dan Salomone
@Dan_Salomone
Leo said he knew about Wink’s aggressive reputation on the field. But what about his personality? Leo said he is one of the funniest guys on defense. He has a great sense of humor, which creates a family atmosphere.
@giantswfan
#Giants #Williams - you have to learn the whole defense because players are being used in all different spots of the same formation, so it puts more pressure on the offense (to ID the defense)
That has been my thought all along. Ojalari did fantastic last year while offenses schemed around him so he did it all without a lick of help by having another pass threat. Now all the focus of the opposition will be in stopping Thibs so Ojalari should have an easier path to the QB. If he gets double digit sacks, we are headed in a nice direction.
In fact, there are lots of things that get presented as fact here that don't match reality.
If he's healthy, he'll be starting on the OL.
