where he got the concussion and missed the rest of the game and the following week. That couldn't have helped. When he hurt it again, he was not properly protecting himself (again) on a designed run where an Eagle landed on his neck as he was going to the ground.
I am thinking it was a bulging or herniated disc. They can heal on their own, but it generally takes like 6 months.
Asshat: he never said other than if team was in contention

He didn't miss the game after his concussion. It was the Rams game and he had 3 of his 7 INTs and 2 (1 lost) of his 7 fumbles. It was a dumb decision to play him.

Well... it seemed dumb at the time. However, we saw Mike Glennon play; this wasn't as dumb after all.
I don't get this at all. It's not like Jones' position is secure enough he can afford to do that.
I don't think Jones would have made that all, it would have come from somewhere up the food chain. I don't even know if Judge made the call, you'd think he'd want to have his best guy playing. Dare I say Mara looking out for his Golden Boy?
I can mess up one of those f*ckers just sleeping on the couch or loading the bottom rack of the dishwasher. (Luckily, Mrs. BBB only exiles me to the sofa two or three nights a week.) If an NFL linebacker crashed into the top of my head at 20MPH, the grounds crew would be mopping up disc fluid for weeks.
We tanked the season intentionally and preserved the health of our best player.
How did sitting Daniel Jones preserve the health of Thomas or McKinney or Williams?
Jones is FAR from "our best player." He probably has - at best - a 50/50 shot at even being on the roster next year. But then again, you're basically a caricature of an actual fan, so I wouldn't expect you to understand that.
If they have a healthy, valuable player, they will play him. Judge had to know early on that he couldn't win with Glennon or Fromm. IMO, the only way he holds a healthy Jones out is if he's assured by the bosses that losing games won't be held against him. If Judge had that kind of assurance, the circumstances of his firing become really curious. Was he just f'd over? Otherwise, I have to believe that Jones was actually injured the whole time or there was a fear of his condition being worsened by playing.
Possibly on the whole team, though I don't think he ever surpassed Leonard Williams.
IIRC, Phil Simms made this point in October, after the Saints game and shortly before things went completely south. I think Phil even added, "And it isn't close."
Not sure I agree with Phil, who is biased toward QBs and admittedly took a lot of hits to the head during his career. And if Phil was right, it probably said more about the roster at the time than the quarterback. Simms: - ( New Window )

I think it was the Dallas game where he really hurt it.

That sounds to me like Phil simms being dismissive and trying to get to a dinner rather than a real evaluation of d jones play. The defense is much better than the offense so the best player is not even on offense.
are playing with disc issues. You can keep the pain at bay and play with little risk of further injury as long as it’s properly addressed. Not saying that’s what happened to Jones but it certainly wouldn’t surprise me. That injury is pretty common.

I agree. He went from a career threatening injury to no problem expected game 1 starter in a couple of months.
Very odd IMO.

Yeah I think it's pretty obvious now they used that as a reason to keep him out once it was obvious the season was over
If Jones was/is the best player on the Giants, the team is doomed

We do not know how Simms truly feels about Daniel Jones.
