and/or franchise and four clearly popped into my head, albeit discussed a bunch on here from time to time. Those are and in no particular order:
-2007 season, 0-2, fighting back from a 17-3 halftime deficit against the Skins to take the lead, 4th down for the Skins and their RB trips over his own guy and is stopped short of the goal. We win. Sitting at 1-2 instead of 0-3 and little to no chance to get to the SB and ultimately win it..
-11.19.78, “The Fumble” or miracle at the meadowlands. Change of regime months thereafter
-2010, up 31-10 with about 7 1/2 minutes to go in the 4th qtr with division clinching at stake. Dodge/Jackson, ultimately no playoff berth
-2011, down 12 against the Cowboys at their place, less than 5 minutes(?) to go in the game. A loss and we’re done. Eli leads us to 2 scores and then the JPP blocked FG gives us the win, eventual division and our SB run.
What are your game/season changes? ANY YEAR, but NFL ONLY.
I remember that game very well..We were up 9-0, Johnson got hurt and George relieved him at QB. I thought at the time, that for the first 3 Quarters, that was the best defensive effort by us in a very long time
2011 99 yard td reception against the jets
also as far as games
Buffalo 2007
Burress shooting himself.
Giants move to 3-3 instead of 2-4 and start a 6 game winning streak, won 9 of their final 11
I guess it was too much Eli to over come and the defense was just JV all the way back then. I think that is the last time I bet on a game and aside from super bowl boxes last super bowl ; probably the last time I ever will
Ross was not visible on the live shot of the play but the replay angle from the other side of the field at 2:13 of the linked clip shows him.
The 2010 PHI disaster doesn't bother me, in retrospect, because that NYG team was not good enough to win a SB, and so much would have been different if they had won that game that they probably would not have won the SB in 2011.
Everything after 2011 I mostly hate. For the one team that made the playoffs, 2016, it was the Week 6, 4th and 1, last gasp, short crossing pattern taken 70 yards to the house by OBJ vs Ravens that turned the season.
If Giants had lost that game, they would have been sitting at 2-4 with a four game losing streak. Instead, they went on to 11-5. A mirage, but fun while at lasted.

Breeze 94 was reading my mind while I was typing about Ravens 2016.
Burress shooting himself.
Good call on Burress shooting. Argument can be made Giants were losing momentum anyway but this ensured it.
This game convinced the team they were good enough to win it all! If the Patriots roll the Giants in that game I am not sure they even make it to the super bowl.

It can be argued that that was Eli’s best ever game to that point.

Certainly. Although 06 week 2 at Philly down 24-7 in the 4th will always be high on my all-time Eli games list. However, from start to finish that Patriots regular season game was better.
Call me what you want, but I personally feared Dallas more than I did facing the Pats in the SB..
that’s brought all this change and new hope for this year going forward. That’s a pretty big deal.

Excellent Dave
In fact, if the Giants had beaten PHI and beaten GB the next week, they still would not have clinched the division.
The Giants had a opportunity to clinch a playoff spot a week
later vs GB but got crushed.
The PHI loss was devastating enough.

I’ll defer to you on this. That said, had we beaten Philly, that would have given us a playoff spot, no?

There was (literally speaking) no division clinch at stake in the NYG-PHI game. Neither team could clinch the division by winning that game.

No.
