Who when his team was struggling, would put his starters names into a hat and the lineup that day would be in the order that he drew them out of the hat.
The Yanks offense might be in that spot- even though they’ve won a good bit lately, it either Judge carries the team, or no one hits.
Also, DJ has been bad this month. No way around it.
88 wRC+, .618 OPS, .284 wOBA
Had a great start to the year, but he's cooled considerably since. The GS he hit vs. CHW was his only hit of the series. His name not being in the lineup makes it look worse, but he's really not contributing a whole lot right now.

That was 1 game and it was more of a Bobby Valentine-like stunt to prove a point to the mediand other critics.
Because I live 3 fucking hours away from Baltimore.....but looking at GameDay, it looks like neither pitch was over the plate so maybe just bad luck for Cole

He is getting hammered. Couple were high strikes, but he is getting hammered.
just before the brush-back pitch. I hope Gerrit settles down, because he was getting tagged by the bottom of the shitbag O's lineups. He wasn't missing any bats.
1 outlier inning. I'll take a day off for the BP with tonight's lineup.
ummm I'm sorry I'm usually one of the positive ones but come on. He got completely smacked around that inning and then we rally to tie it and he instantly gives it right back. Awful effort out of our ace especially with the fact that after last night we were facing our first losing streak of the season against the awful O's.
slump. Truthfully it's been Judge and Stanton, and a short stretch of Rizzo, this season on offense. This team may be in trouble if the pitching isn't lights out.
We need an injection of youth, but Florial's bat just looks to have no life. There may be a role in the pen for Wesneski though.
Not gonna say what I really feel about the Donaldson incident, probably the most appropriate/convenient thing was done, but it sucked to lose to those punks on the Sox. This team just feels neutered. With the tougher part of the schedule coming up, Aaron Fucking Boone better not be in a hurry to give games away.
At least the Martian is hitting a little better down in Tampa.
After that horrid loss Thursday this team would come back down to earth so far I’m right. Maybe the comparisons to the 98 team will finally go away. This team couldn’t even play on the same field as 98.
"Son if you think you're gonna hit into a DP, just strike out"
My initial reaction was "Earl Weaver", but then I thought: let me see if I can really find an answer.
A google of the joke leads to an etymology website run by a contributor to the Oxford Dictionary, who researches the origins of common sayings as well as individual words.
There's an entry for this joke and the entry acknowledges that Earl Weaver is most commonly credited. But there is no documentation Weaver ever said it, and the first in-print reference to his allegedly saying appeared in 1993, well after his retirement.
The earliest print appearance of the joke, as turned up by heavy research, traces to 1975 and player Jim Lefebvre telling a story about a Japanese baseball manager.
Not sure what the odds could be on losing a game where Judge hits 2 HR, Cole goes 8 innings and strikes out 11... but it happened.
Sort of a bizarre loss.
Cole just totally lost his 4SFB for an inning and was in total search mode while they scattered 5 hits in the process. And then the solo shot which he seems to be good for every start.
He had really rebounded after the rough start to the year, but obviously need a more complete showing from him against a team like BAL. Last night wasn't good enough.

Self imposed "jackie" suspension?
I suspect there will be several more. Once you get one guy with Omicron, it's going to spread fast.

Fuck MLB. C*#ts. So now we needy touchy, feely baseball now...
Anderson was smart - he played this into getting his team fired up while our manager sat in the corner with a pacifier in his mouth.

What an absolute crock of shit
2-1

Awful cal
Inexcusable miss. Guy is literally standing right there. Brutal.
It is not uncommon for him.
