Josh Donaldson has been suspended one game and given a fine by Major League Baseball for inappropriate comments made toward the White Sox' Tim Anderson during Saturday's game.
MLB wrote in a statement that Donaldson's comment "was disrespectful and in poor judgment, particularly when viewed in the context of their prior interactions.” Donaldson has appealed the suspension, although he is already sidelined after being placed on the COVID-19 injured list earlier Monday.
What am I missing here? We know Donaldson is a douche but I don't see this as anything worth being suspended over. Yet, White Sox players have said they said some fucked up shit to him. That's okay too?

This suspension seems utterly ridiculous. As someone else pointed out, if they deemed it racist, then 1 game is for too short. If not, there is nothing to see here. Now, the precedent is set for any piece of trash talk to be up for suspension.
What's more, how come back when he made the comments and now that they are back in the forefront, Anderson isn't being taken to task? He's comparing bat flips and an overall obnoxious approach to the game as pioneering the sport and at a level like Jackie Robinson accomplished. Black players and community leaders should be all over this ignorance.
