Christian Bale's character looks awesome. The mostly monochrome look reminds me of Sin City. Unique for the MCU.
Hard to believe they've made four Thor movies, considering the first two were probably the worst two movies Marvel has produced.
They basically rebooted the franchise with the third. This drops in July.
Thor: Love and Thunder - (
New Window )
Because Ragnarok was great
I also liked "fat Thor" in Avengers, thought that was great.
I think Taika is straddling that line of overexposed. He's freaking hilarious, but is everywhere at the moment. Have the same concern about this one, though I can't wait to see it.

Was because 70% of the dialogue was improvised. Korg was supposed to have only two lines but Hemsworth thought he was hilarious and demanded that they expand the role. Hopefully they followed this same plan for this movie but it will be more difficult with big names like Bale and Portman.
Speaking of improvised lines - the famous "It's ok, he's a friend from work" line that Thor says when he finds Hulk is his competitor - was actually thought up by a make a wish kid who was on set for the filming. Cool stuff
Yea that was a classic line and too. Also the “get help” elevator scene was a complete improvisation by Hemsworth and Middleton.
That said, I was really looking forward to this one , especially after the first trailer, but my expectations have lowered. I look forward to Bale, but Hemsworth/Portman stuff seemed very forced. Who knows though. Maybe they just nailed the awkwardness between them.
Thor 2: The Dark World was one of the three worst MCU films. Right there with Iron Man 2 and 3. Several fans are still annoyed by "Trevor" the fake Mandarin in Iron Man 3.
Thor Ragnarok was just so much fun and looking forward to Lover and Thunder. Christian Bale looks amazing as Gorr the God Butcher and I wonder if Marvel will use his sword as a way to introduce symbiotes to the MCU (not counting Eddie Brock on vacation in the end credit scene of Spiderman No Way Home).
That dude is just insane. I knew he was crazy built, but that scene in the trailer where he goes nude. The dude is hiding like a world-class natural physique under those costumes. He basically does all that for every Thor film when we're usually limited to his arms exposed. I think that's the difference between the average population and these highly successful people in entertainment, sports, and tech especially. They just have an unlimited amount of willpower to set any goal they want and get it done via countless hours of hard work and painful growth.
I say tech too merely due to the hours Elon puts in. When he was turning around Tesla, one quarter away from bankruptcy, he averaged 2-3 hours of sleep in his office for months apparently. I bitch internally when I have to work an extra two hours one night during the week.
I'm sure if they kept on with stoic Thor, he might have wanted out too, but now that they've gone full blown slapstick Thor it's probably become fun again.
And also steroids.

HGH. Loads of HGH.
As for Portman, this story line in the comics was pretty popular and i think thats why they wanted to do it. And if your going to do it you had to bring Portman back. So i dont really see it as jamming her back in. The problem with Thor 2 (and the prequels, lol) is not really portman.
Should be otherwise enjoyable but the entire MCU phase has been trash because social justice and virtue signaling appears to be paramount.
