Ranger fan first but was a season ticket holder for many years. They bolt to Carolina (yes the state here was fucking them ans so was the little shit in the NHL office) that being said I hate those cock suckers more than most. Agreed on Fox/Lindgren. Fox may have gotten healthier because he was the tricky stop/go/side toside/circle skater we are used to seeing that creates so much space for him to make plays.
Braun, Ive set it before, he is your stay at home defenseman....and even that is a stretch, lol. His yiming for bodying people up before they can make a play is uncanny and he is a master at keeping the play to the outside. But he is not dreadful, but just doesnt want anything to do with controlling the puck. Which is fine. But I have realized his game since day one and knew people werent going to like it because he treats the puck like a hand grenade with the pin pulled, but he is exactly what we need with the 20 y/o.
Vatrano had tons of jump and got involved with the hitting.

The guy has 257 points in 197 games including playoffs, has carried a line centered by Ryan Strome with various players including Jesper Fast, Barclay Goodrow and Dryden Hunt on the other wing, and remains one of the top 10 point scorers in the league the past 3 years. He's having a rough go of it in these playoffs, likely because he's injured, and we're going to start saying how he is a terrible contract? Imagine the lineup without him.

For the most part, our defensive game last night was excellent in getting the puck out quickly and making smart passes to do so. We lose a little bit of that with our 3rd pairing in Braun, but they play a very stout game and really need some help from the forwards to clear the zone. Schneider is becoming more and more of a bully in front of the net.
Aside from a few whiffs, Trouba was excellent again, Miller was good too, but he still doesnt lay the wood when he can do so legally. Trouba is just beast. I almost threw my sandal at the TV i was so pumped when he dropped that little bitch Domi (loved wat hing him complain about to the refs afterwards).
As was mentioned, bith Fox and Limdgren were sensational....in lock step. Limdgren getting on the scoring not once but twice made my heart warm.
It feels like we're exiting the defensive zone with possession much more frequently as well. Pittsburgh pinches their defensemen so aggressively and it felt like the boards were always blocked off to exit through. Most shifts we were just ending with a flip out to the neutral zone and changing lines. We're making sharper passes exiting the zone and its creating offense the other way.

For sure. Gallant isn't necessarily known as an X's and O's guru, but him and the coaching staff seem to have found some answers. Better matchups for the top line with last change at home is a key as well. Getting Zibanejad away from the Staal line. They'll have to combat that on the road now. But they have to be building a lot of confidence off these two games

When Colorado turns it on, it looks like they're playing a different sport. They're that dominant. But if they draw Edmonton, McDavid is capable of anything. Amazing player, has a chance to be the greatest IMO

I think the Hurricanes might crumble if the Rangers come out hot tomorrow.
I'm a bit shocked by this. I thought we had a decent chance in this series but figured it'd be due to Igor stealing it and we'd be significantly out-chanced. Igor has been great, but our defensive structure is miles better than it was against Pittsburgh and now we're starting to find more space offensively.
I'm beginning to think about where this team could go...
For the most part, our defensive game last night was excellent in getting the puck out quickly and making smart passes to do so. We lose a little bit of that with our 3rd pairing in Braun, but they play a very stout game and really need some help from the forwards to clear the zone. Schneider is becoming more and more of a bully in front of the net.
Aside from a few whiffs, Trouba was excellent again, Miller was good too, but he still doesnt lay the wood when he can do so legally. Trouba is just beast. I almost threw my sandal at the TV i was so pumped when he dropped that little bitch Domi (loved wat hing him complain about to the refs afterwards).
As was mentioned, bith Fox and Limdgren were sensational....in lock step. Limdgren getting on the scoring not once but twice made my heart warm.
We win tomorrow and its over.

Win game 5. Igor is just about breaking them mentally. The Canes haven't played badly, and they can't get shit past him.

I've noticed that the Rangers have definitely deployed some different strategies as far as positioning and player movement in getting out of and through the zone.
Great observation....was afraid to make that point because I wasnt sure if it was just me....but that point about the Pitt D pinching is spot on

I think COL is the go-forward favorite with Tampa a little behind them, but I really don't think anyone is THAT far ahead of the other.

For sure. Gallant isn't necessarily known as an X's and O's guru, but him and the coaching staff seem to have found some answers. Better matchups for the top line with last change at home is a key as well. Getting Zibanejad away from the Staal line. They'll have to combat that on the road now. But they have to be building a lot of confidence off these two games
NYR had the best of them in game 1 and hung tough in game 2. If the Rangers come out aggressive in game 5 and take a lead with Igor playing the way he has, they will win.
Strome has been invisible. I can't wait to replace him, lol.
For sure, this series is still ~50/50.

When Colorado turns it on, it looks like they're playing a different sport. They're that dominant. But if they draw Edmonton, McDavid is capable of anything. Amazing player, has a chance to be the greatest IMO
Tampa is interesting. They're really banged up and if they're still missing Point, that's huge. They're getting by with goaltending and an incredible team culture and will. But at some point you wonder if they wear down. I think we'd have home ice too. Long way to go though...

Agree on Colorado, plus they have a very good goaltender in Kuemper.
