Zimmermann vs. Monty
Think we can score for Monty tonight?

Maybe if they bunted more…
You’re kidding right? We scored how many runs the past 4/games?
I’m not. The offense has sucked. But so has the pitching. Get some perspective l.
Quite sad.

Not enough sacrifice bunts
They should be sacrificing with no one on.....
How'd the HRs work out 4 of the last 5 games?
So bunting more and giving up outs should be the strategy? Absolutely genius. 🙄
Answer the question and stop obfuscating. You're not remotely funny
Lol. Says the dumbass without an argument to their dumbass argument.
You’re not remotely funny either.
🤣🤣🤣
Ok so no answer. Typical reaponse from your kind, hurl insults and ignore the question.
You have my answer. Giving up outs is always dumb, especially when there are no outs.
Get over yourself snowflake.
Still no answer, just more insults. Good on you.
Maybe go to the batting cage and get in some hunting sessions?
Bunting definitely would’ve helped it though. Just ask rnargi! They’ve got all the stats to break down for you.
Let's go!
What's worse is he has to fucking adjust his gloves like Bernie Williams after every pitch.
I'd be shocked if he turned into anything more than a poor man's Gerald Williams (RIP.)
Waldichuk has made the leap to AAA, I look for Wesneski and Waldichuk to bring some life to the team later this year.
Quite sad.
100%
Why not also:
forbid bunting
force the first baseman to play with eyes closed
pitchers throw underhand
Now Rizzo gets to be the hero.
Now someone end this shit.
We needed to not blow this one.
Now someone end this shit.
Done. Trevino had a good night.
Hopefully though you all now see that Florial is not the answer.
There is gonna have to be a deal

This guy has to go. Absolutely terrible contract and player.

I agree re: Florial, as well, sadly. I never thought he was the answer, either. Too bad we missed out on trading him when his value was better than what it is now. :/
It would be nice to see them to bring up an OF’er who was hot at the moment in AA or AAA. Unfortunately, no one really is doing all that great right now.
You just know Gardner will be on the roster by Friday though.

What happened to Stanton. Didn’t see the game.

it would be unlike them, but does anyone think that they build up Gleyber and possibly trade him as part of a package for a legit CF and possibly a reliever?

we'll platoon Andujar and Florial. Andujar/Hicks/Judge and Hicks/Florial/Judge.

Torres is playing well. He is so much better at 2nd base and while his power numbers are not 2018/19 his ABs are much better. IMHO, you do not trade him.
Hopefully, Stanton's calf was mild and only requires a few days.
I hope Miggy starts to hit - could help a lot near term and he could be part of a trade piece if he does hit. I realize you really do not want Judge out there full time, but I see little downside to him in CF, aside from wear and tear.
I said last year he should give up switch hitting, because,
A) he can't hit left handed, and B)his mechanics are just terrible from the left side. His natural side is right handed, at least he looks a little better right handed.
Some on here pooh poohed that idea last year, talking about the short porch in RF...well if you can't hit lefthanded, what difference does the short porch make is my argument.
I am surprised they haven't broached that with him at this point? Others have given up switch hitting in the past.
Still a teenager.
Still a teenager.
I saw that yesterday on the Yanks' website, he is only 19.
He might wind up as a corner outfielder, he has a thick body type. When people start throwing out names like Mantle and Trout, it is really not fair to a young man from another country also trying to learn a new culture, language, etc.
It's a lot more than just baseball...
Still developing his contact skill - even during his hot streak he's striking out a lot. When he makes contact, though, he is destructive.

I'd be more worried with how DJLM has stopped hitting since he signed that big contract.
This MIGHT be the dumbest post I have seen on a baseball discussion in a VERY long time.

The expectations were Wander-esque and he's just not the same level of prospect at this stage. I'm betting he'll get moved up to high A which will be very telling. If he can excel there like this past month there's reason to get the hype train rolling again but he needs to cut down on the k's.

But the talent is real. Not his fault that people were so over the top about him before he ever played a professional game. People also tend to forget that covid has cost him a lot of developmental time.

Some copied a post from BA that other day in which they said a scout told them that they were being too negative on Dominguez and that the issue wasn't talent or pitch recognition- but pitch selection. In other words, once he figures out what pitches he SHOULD swing at, the results would improve.
Well, it looks like that's what's happening. Take a look at the splits between April and May.
What is interesting is that the K's are about the same, but the walks, hits, power, RBI, runs have all gone up.
