Most polarizing Quarterbacks in the NFL.

MOOPS : 5/25/2022 3:10 pm
According to PFF:

The Las Vegas Raiders starting quarterback Derek Carr joins Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray as the most polarizing quarterbacks in the NFL.

Thought this was gonna be a thread about Daniel S. Jones III, didn't cha? Nope. Nary a mention.

Looks like until you bring home the big trophy, there's gonna be a bunch of naysayers around to question the size of your cojones.

Chin up Daniel. The whole NFL fanbase is fruitloop nuts.

There are people with strong feelings about Derek Carr?
and do you know why D.Jones isn't considered among the most polarizing

If you follow the NFL - yes. His numbers are rather ordinary but he is consistently in the 12 to 18 range and has now shown an ability to take a decent team to the playoffs. Might be good but really not good enough to win it all, unless the stars align.
I thought it was a good article

Don’t agree with everything in it, maybe some of the groupings could be tweaked here or there but I liked the concept of tiers/buckets.

I thought the oddest grouping was the polarizing qbs. I’m not so sure I’d put Lamar in best young guns category and Murray in the polarizing QBs category..but I liked the idea of what they tried to do.

Ranking the QBs league wide is just a ridiculous waste of time. Trying to group them in tiers like this I think is a better way to look at them. Absolutely pointless to compare up and coming QBs to guys like Brady/Rodgers/Ryan who are in the twilight of their careers.

The propped up by scheme group was most interesting to me. I had heard this about McVay/Goff and also have heard it about the Shanahan qbs. The way Shanahan runs his offense is interesting, as if the goal is to insulate the offense from the variance in QB play.
Viking fans called.

They want a recount.
Galina lists Cousins under “Propped up by scheme.”
Big Blue Blogger : 5/25/2022 4:13 pm : link
That’s reasonable too. That category kind of overlaps with “Polarizing.” Hard to tell whether a productive guy is just a “system QB” until you take him out of the system.
That 11-20 QB will always be a discussion
larryflower37 : 5/25/2022 4:44 pm : link
Point.
1-10 franchise QB no discussion and very little movement
21-32 time to get a replacement.
It's the no man's land for teams you know you could do much worse but you are not going to win a SB. Tough decision and that's why this group keeps getting paid if you are riding with no QB Derek Carr is a big upgrade but most likely never get you a SB.

Shurmer was a "system coach" with the likes of Thielen, Diggs, Rudolph and Cook as much as Kurt Cousins is a system QB.
Colin Kaepernick is back

And he will runaway with this moniker as "most polarizing"

Working out is different than “signed with/joined”. Nobody in the NFL is serious about signing this guy and taking on the circus that will be sure to follow.

I often wonder if players who aren’t very well thought of in this league are cognizant of how poorly they are regarded by the masses.

LOL, why would they care what the "masses" think of them? They only care what the other 52 guys in that locker room think.
Baker feels like a polarizing QB...

I see a lot of people who love him & a lot of people who hate him. Manziel was polarizing as hell too, even going back to his A&M days.
Does “pro/baser” really represent the masses?
dancing blue bear : 5/25/2022 7:22 pm : link
Masses? With a M?

I guess if he were smack dab in the middle of the bell curve it would explain a lot
Manziel was so good in college

He's the perfect representation of why college football is awesome. One of the GOAT players to watch.

Not so polarizing in the NFL though- pretty clearly awful as a pro. It's a bummer because a good Johnny Football would have been a great guy to have in the league.
