Roster management notes for next season, via NFLN:
- Players placed on IR now miss a minimum of 4 games (not 3).
- Up to 8 players can be designated to return from IR.
- Players can come back from IR twice in one year.
- Teams can have up to 16 players on the practice squad.
Back in the day, the Washington Redskins used to infamously stash non-injured players on IR.
Good call on the WRs, especially with guys like Sills, Bachman, Proehl, etc.
Unless they change it, I believe at least 10 of the 16 have to have maximum of 2 vested years in the league.
Can 2 players be called up to make the roster at 55 on game day and not have to go through waivers in order to go back to the Practice Squad and can they only be called up twice during the season.
Are 4 players on the Practice Squad protected each week.
I'd put my money on K-Toney. The dude can have like three mini-seasons now.

I am more interested in rule changes regarding players moving to and from the practice squad than any other roster management rules. You are right for focusing on this issue.
WOW Good Point
I think it's safe to say that the owners and the players' union both recognize that the increase in the number of games causes a corresponding increase in injuries. Players are bigger and faster than ever, which causes more injuries. The increase in injuries makes it likely that even more players will want to, or be forced to, play hurt this season.
