Deadline hears he died in his sleep in the Dominican Republic, where he was shooting the film Dangerous Waters. We will have more details when they become available
I met Ray once at Sundance back in 2002, a helluva nice, regular dude. He parked it at the bar with us and watched NFL playoff games throwing back some cold ones. One my favorite actors, what a punch to the gut. Fuck.
So sorry to hear this. Ray played some big time roles, I loved his Frank Sinatra in the TV movie 'The Rat Pack' and also Shoeless Joe Jackson in Field of Dreams.

No shit, every single night my Freshman year of college my roommate and I fell asleep to this movie (or made it through the whole thing, but that was rare).

weird, it’s becoming the Dominican Triangle
Will be interesting to hear cause of death. Died in sleep?
of mine and rumor had it that he was a patient there and had a whole floor to himself. This was about 2000. Never heard a thing about it publicly. Sad.
was pretty good in a gritty but low budget film, I think with Jason Patric, called NARC I believe.
He also had some nice supporting roles in a few films over the years, where he just added his flair even if it was a brief role, that kind of added something or gave other characters/actors a little bit of credibility.
His Henry Hill was iconic. Goodfellas is still my favorite movie of all time.
I recall when I worked near Trump Tower, I went to grab lunch at a local pizza place and as I waited for the light to change, I looked at the guy to my left and I noticed it was Ray Liotta. He was dressed incognito, so I didn’t bother him.
Will one of these channels finally show “No Escape”??!!!?
“Anything I wanted was a phone call away. Free cars. The keys to a dozen hideout flats all over the city. I bet twenty, thirty grand over a weekend and then I'd either blow the winnings in a week or go to the sharks to pay back the bookies.”

You're not the first person to say Ray was really really cool.
Fucking annoying...as I get older these ages look a lot younger to me. 67 included.

67 is literally around the corner for me. I just turned the big Six- OH

Yep, this was the film he was promoting when I met him at Sundance. Worth watching.
I just watched Ray in a very under-rated movie on Cable -- Killing Them Softly starred Brad Pitt, James Gandolfini and Ray played a supporting role. As usual, he brought his A-game to this production.
If this movies is on your Cable network...give it a try.
One of my favorite roles of his was as that crazy mofo Ray Sinclair in Demme's Something Wild. His character was scary as hell, and he pulled it off. RIP.

Oh yeah. Killing Them Softly. Forgot about that one.
Killing Them Softly was an interesting role for him

Besides Goodfellas he was great as Shoeless Joe, and then I always liked him in the B-action movie No Escape.
Yup he was great in Copland. RIP, 67 is too young, damn shame
Also great in Cop Land. There was another movie where he played a dirty cop that was good. I think Christian Slater was in it.
sad loss here, dying in your sleep in the DR sounds like there is more to this story
Yeah, just thinking that. I think that was the first movie I saw him in.

He's had a couple good roles, but he'll forever be a legend for Goodfellas. I may fire that up tonight or play some Vice City in his honor

Thinking of Unlawful Entry? That was Kurt Russell with Madeline Stowe..

he jumps off the screen in that.
Underrated movie. Whole cast of character actors just hamming it up.
As a kid I loved Operation Dumbo Drop.
Very sad, much too young..
