That Miami is sleepwalking because Smart and Tatum are taking turns at taking horrific shots. Once Miami wakes up and shots fall - Boston needs more from these 2.
We've elevated the young talent on this team in recent years from abysmal to solid - now we need to get a little greedy, since tanking isn't an option with Thibs.
I guess if they get enough picks it’s worthwhile for Sacramento, but that roster would be a mess - Fox, Mitchell, Sabonis, Randle? Not sure what upside they’re seeing there.
The Knicks number 1 priority this offseason is to get a point guard..
He said Mitchell would be the number 1 target but the odds he becomes available is very unlikely..
Said Brunson is their number 1 available target but many think he is staying in Dallas..Knicks were close to deals that would kf sent out Burks and Noel and would of cleared 20 million..He thinks if the Knicks tried right now they would have to give up pick 11..
Said Knicks have an advantage with Brunson if Brunson wants to be the main ball handler..
Another PG name is D'angelo Russell..
Also thr Knicks interest in Ivey is real but they have to obviously trade up
Will anyone take him? It's crazy that the Knicks have been looking for a point guard since Mark Jackson and Rod Strickland. They just can't seem to fill that position with a young quality player.

interesting stuff. I call BS on them having to add #11 to move Burks and Noel though. Both of them make about 10 mill and are expiring. Burks can easily be moved I bet as he adds value to a contender. Noel we'll probably have to toss in one or two of the 100 2nd rounders we have over the next 4 years or so.
unfortunately I think Brunson played his way back onto the Mavs

Problem is not a lot of teams with cap space, so i think the teams that do will drive up the price..
I like Brunson but id rather just go with IQ...
Id give up the assets and trade up for Ivey
Whoever posted the link to the Riley article thank you
Bill Parcells and Pat Riley are #1 and #2 in my top 5 of favorite and greatest coaches of my lifetime.
I know a lot of people here sports hate both of them because they left NY. I don't even through it crushed me sports wise both times. I've been around enough people like them in business to not be surprised. They both have a lot of character traits in common. Good and bad. Unfortunately some of the things that make the fire burn to excel and win don't work well in society and inter personal relationships.

It is one thing to turn yourself into a leadership legend because you spent 20 years coaching Tom Brady. It is another thing entirely to keep swapping the players and cities and take the winning with you wherever you go, as if it can be placed in a moving truck.
I really like Donovan Mitchell but if I had to choose between using
assets to trade up to 4 for Ivey or trading for Mitchell, I'd choose Ivey in a heart beat. If someone really wants to move down, the Knicks should go for it, IMO. We have way too many picks now to actually use them for drafting players. It's time to make some trades to acquire guys.
If we could trade Randle, trade up for Ivey and also find a way to have Zion force his fat ass here.... well, that would be a pretty fun and explosive team to watch.
Depends on what we have to give up to get up to 4...
If its Julius and a swap of picks... I don't know.
Would they take Julius and Dallas's 1 next year and a couple of the 2s that will be high next year? That way, you're adding Ivy and another young piece here. Thing is, Sac doesn't really have too much in the way of bad contracts. Not sure what else would have to be included to make it work.

Randle, 11, dallas first and future draft assets for Barnes and 4 should work

It's gotta be 11. You're not gonna trade up to 4 and also keep 11. The cost to move up to 4 will be steep enough.
Mitchel, but having to choose between making a trade with Ainge vs. making a trade with the Kings is not much of a choice IMO.
That is very well said. I'm curious to see if Miami makes a push for Mitchell. DWade - Mr. Miami Heat - is part of Utah's ownership group, but Ainge loathes Pat Riley from the days of the Lakers/Celtics rivalry. That would be an interesting soap opera.

Miami doesnt have the matching salaries unless they offer up Bam or Lowry and thr jazz are willing to take those contracts
and they prolly can if they are willing to include like Vincent, Yertseven, etc... Not sure why the jazz trade mitchell for basically Herro and an overpaid Robinson.
If you were to make a trade for a 1st rounder for Randle, straight up, what would you do?
Like I feel like if you say any 1st rounder, you're giving up on talent. I mean, we all know the warts, and Julius was awful this year, but he's not a zero player. I can't imagine that his trade value could be lower. Is he a negative asset at this point?
I really think that if he's viewed that way then the front office will hold onto him.

If you could get a first for him, you pack his bags and send him on his way
to really see a scenario where Obi and Randle are a great pairing on the court at the same time and I think it's pretty clear Obi should be playing 30ish minutes a night next season. His final 11 games he played 30 minutes per night and averaged 19 and 6, 1 block on 58/44 shooting. Yeah, I think the Knicks are better off without Julius Randle if they gain assets (1st round pick and some bodies on non-bad contracts)
Jonathan Givony (ESPN) post combine mock draft from this morning
has the Knicks taking AJ Griffin with the 11th pick and Christian Koloko with the 42nd selection.
There was video of Leon watching Griffin from about 10 feet away. There is a belief that Griffin (more than some other guys) was unable to show his full skillset due to his usage at Duke. He would be a solid add at 11. Worth noting, Jeremy Woo felt he was less NBA ready than some other lotto picks. Koloko would basically replace Mitch. Mitch/Sims are "similar" players.
Because its a sunday on a holiday weekend
hahaha i am always up late so it doesnt bother me, finals games probably wiill start around 9
Grabs by PJ Tucker is 20.5 (he only got called for 4 last game)
Complaints by Lowry and Tucker is 176.5 (easy over. Lock of the year).
Smart has to stop shooting. Hasn’t taken a good shot yet.
trivia link - ( New Window )
And the celts head coach better start figuring how to defend Butler. Not guarding him and letting him comfortable will lead to a loss.
Smart making me eat my words.
No one is more consistent at throwing games than him. Just ask his buddy Timmy.
Sitting jaylen brown for him is a rookie move.
This would be an epic collapse.
They have talked with the Kings about a nove up to 4, Kings want more veteran type of players and are intrigued about pairing Sabonis with Randle..
Maybe the plan isnt to trade for a current star, but to trade up for a guy they think will be a star to pair with Iq,Rj and Toppin
What would it take though to move up? You get better by trading with stupid team like the Kings. Pairing Randle with Sabonis, what a stupid idea…

It would probably take 11, next years dallas and probably a future 1st

Interesting, interesting...I don't blame them either.
Go up and get Ivey, all costs, if it costs a couple of future picks, do it..go get a homegrown star..
Go into next season with a young core that is the leading the team, have a clear path for the future..
Bring back Portis..He can spread the floor and let Rj and Ivey attack the rim at will

Herro and Robinson is only 19 million
