He was the 9th pick in the draft .. has 1.5 career sacks … would be your reaction if a NYG player represented like this to say Bobby Skinner ? Link - ( New Window )
Cohn seems like a schmuck. Probably shouldn’t have credentials and it speaks volumes that so many players came to Kinlaws defense.
Kinlaw- he was out of line, could have handled this much differently. And the criticism is part of his job- when you make a lot of money as a first round pick and are in the public eye, there’s expectations for you and criticism to be faced if you don’t live up to them.
However, Grant can go about the way he critiques the team in a much better manner instead of coming off as an arrogant POS who speaks on assumptions (saying guys don’t have work a strong work ethic when he actually has no idea)
Ironically, Kinlaw - a Black Trinidadian - manages to look like he's punching down here against a privileged white jerk whose main qualification is that his dad used to write for the Chronicle.

So this is a racial issue to you? You've got to be kidding.
It’s a media relations issue where the subject of the story, Kinlaw, needlessly ceded the high ground. He’s far and away the more sympathetic figure, even if he hasn’t lived up to his draft billing as Buckner’s replacement. Kinlaw should win this argument easily. He has worked for everything he has. Cohn is a nepotism brat. And Cohn is judging his effort?

What? Kinlaw came across as an ignorant goon in this. His balls are bigger than Cohn's? Every time Cohn started talking Kinlaw talked over him. I wanted to kmow what he was eating just so that I could figure out what required so much chewing that it took up entire 2 mins with no additiinal bites.
I dont know anything about this Cohn guy, but Kinlaw comes off as an ignorant asshole and a child.
but it's well known in Niner fan circles/media/team just how much of a instigator Cohn is.
Cohn gets some credit for being the most challenging beat reporter covering the team but his criticisms can come off personal (i.e. repeatedly criticizing certain players non stop).
He even criticized Shanahan a good amount, pre Super Bowl appearance and post.
From what I can tell this is mostly a put on, calculated act to drive traffic.
Someone compared him to Manish Mehta of NYJ. Not sure how accurate that is, but I do know Mehta was a bit polarizing.
Kinlaw should win that argument because it’s an easy argument to win. Just stick to cliches about working hard every day to be the best he can be for his teammates, his family, 49er fans, God, etc. Instead, he goes on a thin-skinned rant that only shows he can’t take criticism.

Ahhh gotcha. My bad. He comes across like a fucking moron to be honest. I would be able to talk to somebody like that for more than 30 secs...juvenile behavior.

And he never gives one example of his unfair comments and implies that somehow his comments effects his career - like the coach and GM are listening in for hot takes

No, he just chews more cud and then food particles come flying out his mouth.
I'll ask again....what requires that much chewing?

I've never listened to Cohn before, but he seems to be doing alright for himself.
People like to dismiss guys forging paths in new media, but it's the future.
