Jones has never not looked good in practice. He can make all the throws. We are waiting and hoping to see him do everything he needs to do in game situations. There are just a limited number of skills that can be tested in practice.

His deep balls haven't been an issue, in fact, I think those balls have been his strength. I think it's more the mid range throws that are inconsistent.
I can't get excited about a play made in one on one situations.
You expect that the receiver will make a play on the ball.
However, I am constantly amazed that Wan'Dale is able to win contested catches against larger players.
He did this in college and has demonstrated that he can do it in camp. He has a way of attacking the ball that compensates for his short arms and stature. It is very impressive.
Somehow he is able to expand his catch radius by layout out for the ball.
...like WanDale was running a corner route as he had his back to the camera when he enters the frame. That was covered and DJ placed the ball inside to give him a chance. It was a great adjustment.
Start at 3:00 for the throw and catch - ( New Window )

I think that's his best pro comparison

Actually, Steve Smith is not coming to the Giants. That was just an internet rumor that was debunked. Smith was in camp doing a tv gig.
