But at 29, before the season started, he would have been one of the older and most expensive players on the roster and in his last contract year. Don’t see how he fit into overall plan.
were aware that JB played all of last year with a very sore/tender achilles which would explain why he appeared to have slowed down or lost a step.
I believe that wasn't reported until after he was released.
That's part of the reason I believe he did well, considering the circumstances. The Eagles gave him a similarly sized prove-it deal as the Giants gave Logan Ryan in 2020.
If the reason he looked so bad last year was a nagging injury, he'll have no problem following Ryan's path and earning somewhere in the vicinity of 3/30 with 20 guaranteed.
Let up nearly 900 yards and allowed 8 scores. Would have been more if Carr wasn't erratic in the Raider game. Also remember his miss tackle percentage being wicked high; for a zone corner that's impactful.

More evidence of Gettleman's horrible team building.
He gets something right by building a deep DL rotation, that pressures the QB, and takes the burden off the secondary.
And then gets to the offseason and it went too well, so he doesn't keep it in tact.
Once a Giant, Always a Giant.

JB had a cup of coffee here; one good season. This isn't like Sehorn who had memorable moments, regular season & postseason.
