Kadarius Toney catching some balls before practice again
Catching 90 degrees from the thrower. Is he practicing for a quick toss on the line of scrimmage without having to turn and face the QB - allowing for a speedy take off down field?
Doubt it. There's no percentage in one handed catches at the line of scrimmage, whether passes or laterals. They need to be as sure as possible, which means two hands.
Yesterday he was also practicing one handed catches, also with the left hand, although he was standing square to the passing gun then.
My guess is that he is mostly just bored. I do wonder why it's all left hand. I keep waiting for him to switch to the right (like Belushi doing his eyebrow raises for his SNL audition).
The practical benefit Of this drill would be catching balls thrown behind the receiver.
Still would consider resign saquon if it’s a reasonable deal
Something that works for both parties and not a cap buster
Yes, if I can get a 3rd rd at deadline, got to consider it
Yes, if someone is offering big money in FA, can’t do it
But I think his value will be maximized in the offense this yr
He isn’t a between the tackles guy on a consistent basis ( capt obvious)

Jihad Ward said he’s on Kayvon to know his stuff. He doesn’t want him or anybody to play slow. “He’s dialed in. He’s ready.” He doesn’t want people still learning while they’re playing.

You could say that about yesterday's drill, where he was standing square to the gun, although if he never switched to the right hand you'd have to wonder why.
For today's drill, and answering the question that was asked, it makes no sense to practice sticking one hand out while standing at a 90 degree angle to passes (or laterals) at the line of scrimmage.
Too little to gain and too much to lose.

Much lighter practice today. There was only really one live 11-on-11 period, which was in the red zone. There was an extended period where the offense and defense did a walk-through without helmets.

No major changes in the red jersey crew. Didn't spot CB Rodarius Williams, who has been on the side rehabbing his torn ACL all spring. WR Travis Toivonen traded the red for blue today.

Definitely not working on a toss with a jugs machine.
If a player is running forward and the ball is behind, his body position would be the same as the way he did the drill.

Barkey has poor leadership traits if he can't block. End of discussion.
Such a dumb comment. So if a guy is weak in one area, he is a poor leader? Ward isn’t the best defensive player but coach is lauding his leadership. You are just looking to take a shot at SB.

Can we wait until we see how he performs during the games before we decide on whether to extend him?
He is not going to resign right now, with his stock so low.
