Cortes vs. Beeks
Nestor has a chance for a no hitter like Cole did last night. Rays lineup is awful.
Good stuff.
Win again tonight and keep burying Tampa.
Yandy Diaz, Randy Arozarena, and Frank Mejia say hello.
Been saying it for days. Looks tired and bat is off.

Mejia sucks. Without Margot, Lowe, and Franco, the Rays lineup is bad.
The Yanks really should sweep this team again after winning the McClanahan game.

Mejia is the one Ray that is hitting. He does not suck. Losing Margot does hurt - one of their better players.

Hitting when? He's been a negative player this year. He has a wRC+ of 89 in June (100 is league average) and an 83 wRC+ on the season.
He's batting .234 this month with a .654 OPS.
He's hit lefties well this year, but the sample size is small. Only 30 AB's.
No one should be scared of Francisco Mejia.

I guess you didn't see him hit the ball into the 2nd deck at the Stadium last week. I guess you didn't see the double he hit last night. I guess you didn't see the the ABs where he fouled off pitch after pitch. He has been the one guy putting bat on ball last few games.
Yeah, nothing else to argue about. It is a sad sack team at the plate.

I did, I'm just not sure why any of this means he's a good player. Look at his career numbers. Over 700 AB's of being a below average hitter barely above replcement level.
Anyone can get hot for a few days. We could frame Higashioka the same way.. we both know he's not a good hitter.
Lowe, Franco, Margot, Zunino, Kiermaier, Anderson, Feyereisen, Rasmussen, Kittredge
No reason not to sweep them.
Good stuff.
Win again tonight and keep burying Tampa.
Well, Trevino for Ahlstrom actually.

Posted it in the other thread, but Albert Abreu is back. So, Trevino was free.

Forgot about him.. so, I'll amend what I said to "basically free" because Ahlstrom was the 213th OA pick in last years' draft and probably has pretty low odds of being an impact MLB arm. :)
Anti up!
They really don’t have another option? I haven’t seen him do anything as a Yankee. Same goes for Donaldson.

serious question. how is Gallo still in the majors?

Much rather see andujar and this point. Can't be much worse
Not that close. Bad outing for the Yankee pitchers.
Lowe, Franco, Margot, Zunino, Kiermaier, Anderson, Feyereisen, Rasmussen, Kittredge
No reason not to sweep them.
Well...not Nasty Nestor's night. Offense didn't do much either. Who is Issac Paredes?

Anyway, my point is... all of these guys are missing:

Definitely not someone I expected to go deep against Nestor once... let alone twice and three times in the game overall.
Really aggravating loss, but I'm happy with 2/3 and coming home for a huge series against Houston.
Aside from that mess in Minnesota, the Yanks haven't lost a game by more than 2 runs in an entire calendar month and have only lost 6 times total in that span.
I expect them to bounce back tonight and win like the elite team they are.

Judge... so fucking close.

Bat broke, he just missed it.
Unfortunately, the pitchers will falter once in a while. Just gotta bounce back.
