**Not confirmed** reports Tony Siragusa has passed away

DanMetroMan : 6/22/2022 3:17 pm
It's floating around twitter with some with "check marks" saying RIP etc but the source of the original report is some random feed.
There’s no credible source reporting this

The Ravens podcaster for Barstool tweeted it out. Barstool isn't exactly ESPN but it's also not a guy on the street

FWIW
DanMetroMan : 6/22/2022 3:51 pm : link
I would never take somebodies death to be funny but when those connected to the a "known" Ravens podcast were confirming it sure appeared to be something legitimate and now it looks like it is.
From Wiki:
Big Blue '56 : 6/22/2022 3:56 pm : link
“Anthony Siragusa[1] (born May 14, 1967 - died June 22, 2022[2]), nicknamed "Goose", was a former National Football League defensive tackle who spent 12 seasons with the Indianapolis Colts and the Baltimore Ravens.”
nfl writers now confirming

Dan clearly wrote Not confirmed. Some of you need to find something else to do.

Haha, why is everyone pretending there's outrage over Dan posting it. Literally one dude made one comment.

I literally thought about him for the first time in years on the Gronk retirement thread yesterday. I felt like the only way I could see Gronk as an “announcer” was in that Goose type of “on the field” role, and even that felt like a stretch.

He was a key ingredient to the best defense of the last 25 years. You couldn’t run on that team, and having him and Sam Adams clean up space for Ray Lewis and co. was a big reason why.
RIP!

I always loved his sideline work.

Was also a quiet character

Sad, was a nice guy.

RIP.
He was also in Spike Lee's 25th Hour...

Jeez. Way, way too young. RIP, Goose.
Wow
Sammo85 : 6/22/2022 5:17 pm : link
Two guys that grew up close to me (slightly before my time) in Union County NJ.

Liotta and now Goose.

I live right next to/in both of their former haunts (Liotta - Union and Cranford, NJ and Kenilworth, NJ for Siragusa).

I know he owns a couple of bungalows near Lavallette, NJ on the Jersey Shore, but mostly rents them out. I've seen him a time or two at a couple of local restaurants when I'm in that area. Sorry to hear this news.
Sad news. Siragusa was a pretty good character

Yep he owned Tiffany's in Pinebrook. They used to tape a show their before Monday night football and it was fun to go down when he was there doing that. Of course I'm talking like 15 years ago now... lol
Baltimore also lost LB Jaylon Fergurson
montanagiant : 6/22/2022 7:15 pm : link
25 years old, was found unresponsive with no initial indication of trauma or foul play. No cause of death has been determined

One of those Tiffany's was in Toms River for some time. I didn't know if he had anything to do with it.

Have any idea when that was? I wanna say 2007 or so.

Anywho, I was always kind of "worried" when I'd see him on the sidelines during the Giants games years after he was done playing and took notice he never shed any weight. If he did lose any, it wasn't much.
Met him at pinebrook Tiffany yrs ago

Several of these stories in sports and out...mentioned earlier. Tragic...for the families of the these people.
I am hearing/reading mixed reviews about him.
short lease : 6/23/2022 3:26 am : link

He was always 1 of my favorites (Irv Cross being the other) - one of the best IMO. He had a "big goofy jock" type style that I felt gave the viewer some insight to the inner workings of the locker room ... and having been an ex-player (Tony S. ... not me) who happened to WIN A SB (need I remind anyone?) - gave his reporting style a credibility that some of the other sideline reporters don't have and never will have. Draw your own conclusions on that last sentence ... ; )

R.I.P. Mr Siragusa.
Heard it on the news this morning.

Nice guy. Met him at the SB in Indy.
RIP Big guy!

Saw a lot of really nice words from his former players on how good a guy he was and how big a leader he was with the Ravens.

Ray Lewis gave a lot of credit to the dirty work TS did in the trenches freeing him up.
