How is Brujan a scrub? He was ranked number 1 in the rays system last year and 12th overall in baseball. Every 'unknown' guy who hits a homer off us isn't a scrub, haha.
out in LF/CF than have to watch Gallo try to chop down the baseballs every AB. I don't remember ever watching someone with a bigger hole in their swing.
Great win. The Rays just finally ran out of pitchers. Credit to Monty, far from his best stuff, but found a way to give us 6 and keep us in it. That Houston series is gonna be lit. Going out with the wife and the kids Friday. After shaky weather tomorrow Summer weather hits Friday for the weekend.
So many "great teams win these games" types already this season. So many games the 2021 team would have 100% lost.
This team has it.
Yep. We've become so good at the little things like the Trevino pick off at 3b when Monty was really struggling, and Stanton's great play hustling that ball down in the corner and nailing Arozerena trying to stretch it into a double. These plays get forgotten, but they keep you within reach.

I feel the same way. Teams better be prepared to get all 27 and maybe more against them because they don’t stop coming and don’t give up on anything.
Such a fun team to watch, and I love how this year they’re making plays instead of not or having them made against them. Eg, the pickoff at 3rd where Donaldson and Trevino got them out of a big spot. Both made fantastic plays to get them off the field with the bases loaded.
They wasted opportunities earlier in the game, but it didn't come back to bite them. Time for Bonney to make Trevino the No. 1 catcher. He's earned that. No time to relax now, with a 4 game set against the Astros.
Trevino’s playing a huge role in the Yankees’ excellent start.
“This is a dream come true, for sure,’’ said Trevino, who grew up a Yankees fan. “Everyone is seeing the rose right now. Nobody saw me two or three years ago or even last year. There was a lot of hard work and it’s starting to come to the top.”
And I think it hit something there because there was a definite delay in it landing and it still landed about 20 rows back. That ball was heading for Safeco field territory if it didn't hit anything.
RE: I just can't get over Judge hitting one over the catwalk
Nice job taking 2 out of 3 down in Tampa. Have won 18 of last 21 and they have a 12-game lead. And it's not like the other teams in the East are playing bad baseball.
He had that one disastrous outing against the Orioles early in the year that got him demoted but, since being recalled from Scranton, he's been excellent. Not only hasn't he allowed a run in 9 appearances and 12 innings, he's only allowed a single hit.
about this game because the original lineup didn't include our best players (Hicks, Torres, & Higashioka) but the rest of the team came through. Like others have said, this team isn't just depending upon its stars like Hicks to carry them but have different players stepping up each day
I have a feeling Stanton is going to have a big series. His AB's have been getting a little better. He's always been streaky.
Would love to see him go off against the trashcans.
I missed last night and caught up on the highlights, but also loved how G was showing off his arm in RF.
Our man Judge was in a brief slump, but man he sure knows how to break out in style!! And nice to see Holmes lock it down, after his first wonky outing in 2 months earlier this week

In the postgame show and in the Post they said it definitely hit something, perhaps the roof but at least the catwalk, and still landed in the seats. I didn't think that was physically possible. Has it ever happened before?
I read somewhere that Gallo hit one over the catwalk

Absolute darts from RF > 2B by Big G last night. Those were lasers.
1-0
Sterling would be proud
3-1
26th of the year.

He's a talented young guy who got too much of a bad pitch.
Monty hasn't located tonight.
Let's fucking go.
He's been up. He was getting loose alongside Schmidt earlier

Gotta get King up now.

He was, but they had Castro up before the Trevino HR. King started warming again after that.
Just keep taking care of biz. Can't wait for this Astros series.
51-18.
51-18.
just tuning in ... wow

Guess Judge just needs a day off every now and then. Pay the man!
I'll take two of three the rest of the year...

He couldn't even get back to the bag, Donaldson stuck his knee in the way, that part was funny.

Monster shots, both of them.

All good thus far.
