The Giants scored big with both Thibodeaux and Neal mentioned often as likely #1 - overall.
My biggest personal disappointment was not taking QB Malik Willis, who went to the Titans at 86th over-all. He very well has a very good chance of being THE steal of the decade, if the plays up to his potential.
The other one is Minnesota OT Daneil Faalele (4th round to the Ravens). The man is huge, (6'8", 384), with ballerina feet.
The Ravens killed the 2022 draft ...

I think he's going to play with "a chip on his shoulder". I read somewhere (can't find the article), where he thinks he should have gone #1 over-all. I seem to recall his dad also thinks so.
I wouldn't want to be the NFL lineman across the L.O.S. from him.
Only 4 or 6 players were taken ahead of them.
I don't care if his feet look like this ...
As long as long as he's light on them.
Only 4 or 6 players were taken ahead of them.
The article is about steals on each day, and the Giants got a shout out later down on the list for grabbing 2 players who could have gone higher.
It's hard to run fast in those slippers
It's very exciting potential
Yes, it's a misplaced thing to stay. You can't be a "steal" when you're top 10 and play great.
Only 4 or 6 players were taken ahead of them.
Pj - that was my initial reaction also but, I think Manny was calling those 2 players "Scores". You are right - how could any 1st round pick be considered a steal?
I think he starts with Malik Willis and Daniel Faalele when applying the "steals" classification?
Light on your feet doesn’t mean your Usain Bolt just that he’s agile like he can pull without falling all over himself

I have no idea and I did not read the article yet, but isn't it kind of hard to call the 5th or 7th overall pick the steal of the draft?

OOPS ... Sorry PJ. When Manny did not use quotes I thought they were his words in the OP.
Either that reporter does not know the definition of the word steal ... or I don't.
How do you call any top 10 pick a "steal"? Sauce Gardener was a steal?
IMO, a "steal" would be something (or someone in this situation) that had 1st round grades and was drafted in the 5th round, the 6th round, etc .... High value for a minimum investment. Gardener was drafted 4th in the 1st round!!! for chrissakes!
How is that a [i][b]"steal"[[i/b] ..... in anybody's book?

sorry about the mess up on the BBCoding everyone ...
We need this draft to be foundational to our future and that requires probowl players who own games at Pass Rusher, Offensive Tackle (both spots), and WR in a pass happy league.
Can you imagine if by mid-season Toney and Robinson create matchup problems no one could have imagined due to their unique quickness and skill sets?
Then we have the OG Ezeudu who is versatile in skills. Can he become a probowler at a position at some point? McFadden a solid LB. Etc.
When you have a draft that produces 4 or more starters of merit it is very unique and this one on paper has that potential.
I've said this a few times but can we finally catch a break and win an early cheap game or two with the new coaches during the learning curve period (four games) and when we put it together be in the thick of things til December. Is 9 - 8 out of the question if this year's and last year's drafts produce on the field AND Jones & Barkley are healthy?
We will see soon enough!
Kyles Hamilton should never have dropped to #14, though.
None of the guys they wrote about have lined up against anyone but their own teammates and if I'm remembering the OTA and mini camp rules correctly none of them have even dressed out for a full practice yet.
Malik Willis?
That's playing against teams that are in the bottom rung of college football. Why would anyone draft him sooner. I guess there's chance he could be Russell Wilson but it seems there's a much better chance he won't be. PFF says he should have been a 1st? Makes no sense to me. They said Riddler and Howell should have been round 1 too?
Who knows maybe they're correct. We'll see. There is certainly an aspect of group think around evaluations league wide. If this article was written next March after their rookie years played out it would have made more sense to me.
I agree it seems a little silly to talk “steal” regarding any top 10 pick. “Great value” maybe.
Still, I don’t blame the writer for writing an article that generates interest and controversy at this dead time of the year.

I actually think he's practice squad material.
I don't know about that. A lot folks favored Ekwonu at five. Others bought into the negative hype about Thibodeaux and would have passed on him. Lots of that sentiment here for either of those. Sy, I believe, wrote he would have gone with a different pair.
