I wonder if there is a plan in place with Archie, Peyton and maybe Eli
GiantBlue : 6/23/2022 12:27 pm : link
to do what Archie and Eli did in 2003.....to bring Arch to the Giants on draft day in three years....or four....

It will be fun following his college career at Texas.
I wouldn't be surprise if Archie pulls a reverse Eli

I thought Eli made it noted before it wasn't to go to NY. But simply avoid San Diego.
I am surprised the decision came so soon
johnnyb : 6/23/2022 12:52 pm : link
but after reading an article in The Athletic this morning, Arch was really happy with the coaching staff at Texas and the transparency they projected. He can follow in the footsteps of Chris Simms.
If we're in a position to get him in the draft,

+1. He has to be a super bowl champion/nfl mvp type to even live up to expectations...yikes.
Arch has the Archie and Cooper mobility gene
Spiciest Memelord : 6/23/2022 1:03 pm : link
Peyton and Eli must have the Olivia gene.

Hope he does well in Austin. College football is better when the 'Horns are good and have a chance for bigger things.

Personally, I think he had better options with coaching and surrounding talent, but let's see if he can elevate the program to bigger heights.

Would love to know what Quinn Ewers is thinking right now...

It’s not out of the question that Manning could sit behind Ewers for 2 years. As calculated as the Manning family seems to be, this is an off choice.

Also, if he goes there and is Chris Simms part 2, it’s a severe disappointment for Texas and the Mannings

Mannings are built for this shit. Anyone want to bet against Arch? I'd be more than happy to take anyone's bet against him.

Sark is a excellent offensive coach and has done great work with QB's and has coached in the NFL. They will build the offense through the running game. Now they need to get the OL to compete in the SEC. High profile recruit like this will only help the recruiting efforts imv.

Evers will start for 2 years with Manning sitting behind for one year. No QB who has NFL potential is going to wait and take the risk he gets hurt. Manning will start as a Sophmore and Junior and enter the draft.

As a Texas fan, l bet the deal is he sits for a year
PatersonPlank : 6/23/2022 2:42 pm : link
That gives Ewers 2, Ewers goes in the draft because agewise he is at the end of his junior year giving Archie the start as a sophomore

This. Texas needs to get better and Evers should start. VERY few kids and I'd suggest even this one should start at QB as a true Freshman.

Ewers is a great talent. So I actually could see him holding off Manning and truly winning that job when Arch arrives.

But there is going to be immense pressure for Sark to start Arch. He's arguably their biggest recruit ever in that program. Even if Ewers is better that may not be enough...unless Ewers is a star instantly.

Ewers, sitting on a $1.4 million NIL deal, will probably end up transferring...again...he's gonna be another JT Daniels..
I'm glad he committed to Texas,

If you are talking about campus hopping, I can see Ewers following the JTD path, too. But I think Ewers is more talented than JTD. And he has a chance to be a high draft pick.

I still sometimes forget that Texas & Oklahoma are moving to the SEC.
Ewers helped in the recruiting of Archie
PatersonPlank : 6/23/2022 9:47 pm : link
I doubt he's moving on, he's always wanted to play at Texas. He'll get his 2 seasons and then it's Archie time for 2 to 3. This means Archie sits as a freshman and starts as a Soph.
We have no clue who gets him.
bradshaw44 : 6/23/2022 10:37 pm : link
And for anyone to get their hopes up is absolutely ridiculous.

He will be a cardinal. That’s my guess. No idea why, but it adds to the insanity. Nobody knows.

But remember the day I called it. Arizon Cardinal number 1 pick, Archie Manning. Get used to hearing it. In 3 years that is.

Archie Manning? Good luck to Arizona trying to win with a 75 year old QB...
Very poor decision on his part
gmenrule : 6/24/2022 9:11 am : link
Behind the UGA offensive line, and with their running game, he could have won a few college championships at Georgia. Gonna be hard to complete passes behind the Texas OL when he is lying flat on the ground. He would have been almost guaranteed to make the SEC championship every year and probably the college football playoffs as well. oh well ... enjoy Austin when you can.
...
christian : 6/24/2022 10:13 am : link
There's a good chance Manning doesn't get the reigns at UT until 2024. With the transfer protocol and Manning as a recruitment tool, UT is going to be stacked.

UT has hit hard times, but it's a great school, town, they have a brand name QB guru coach, and a brand name QB.
Austin is probably a different town
Spiciest Memelord : 6/24/2022 12:28 pm : link
than even 10 years ago. The fan support could be absolutely nuts with Arch.
