I live in Albany. You can count on Hilary
to be there and try your brisket plate.
We have a fair amount of decent Bar B que here.
The iron works grill in Troy is excellent but no indoor
seating.
PJ bar b qusa good but no atmosphere (Malta)
Dinosaur Bar b que in Troy a lot of people like but I am not
a fan.
I’m in Saratoga so not too far away. Will definitely come see you when you open. P J’s is good but they’re pro Bills there. Need a Giant based bbq around here.
First congratulations. Second if you could throw out a where and when I'd love to stop and eat it sounds like it's only a hour from here. We go up around there quite a bit.
Being self employed is exciting, challenging, time consuming, and at times very hard and stressful, but it is also one of the most rewarding paths one can take with their life.
Once we get closer to opening I will post the business info on here, if that is OK with Eric and the mods of course. I don't want to break any rules, because I like being on here lol.

Would you loosen your restrictions if he promises to grow his own vegetables (organically, of course)?
We moved to the Albany area in 2019 – just in time for COVID – and now we're moving four hours away. If we can't sell our house, though (SE of Albany) I'll still be here when you open though my wife will have started her new job near Cape Cod.
Great BBQ is hard to come by. When my daughter had a winter soccer tournament in Syracuse, I think it was, we all piled into a DinoSaur BBQ: wood floors, wooden counters and chairs, two levels, steep little climb to a smallish parking lot and store front, if that sounds right to you Upstaters. At the end of a full day of games, it was delish. But I wonder if its proliferation of venues (franchise or company owned?, and there's one near us in Stamford, but the last one we went to there wasn't nearly as good, authentic, as I remembered it from Syracuse.

Thank you Gidie!
Careful you don’t know the takeout order he wants in return. It might end it before it begins 😂

If you keep to your dream, they will come.
Syracuse is the original Dinosaur and far predates the others. When I first went there (1993 or 94ish) it was a bona fide biker joint, which happened to have some of the best food I’ve ever tasted.
The only other location I’ve tried is Rochester, which is very good, but I can’t imagine any of them matching the experience of the original.
No,I am in upstate NY...west of Albany
Yes, please do!
