Devin Thomas in my class

RobClearwater : 6/23/2022 1:00 pm
Hello, I have been a long time reader, just never really post but thought this was cool to share. I have Devin Thomas in my Personal Training Course in the Tampa Area. I have everybody introduce themselves and he said "Devin and I am a Superbowl Champ.." I was like, "you can't leave us hanging, what is your last name?" He said Thomas, and I knew the name but just couldn't place it, so I asked which team and he said Giants, which I freaked knowing exactly who he is when he said that and I started yelling about recovering the fumble that let us go to the Superbowl. He is a great guy, really down to earth, taken pictures with our office and just an overall good guy. I started this morning by showing the clip of the fumble recovery and everybody has been going crazy. I am not sure how to post pics here, if you let me know, I can post. I will say, he is huge... can't believe WR are that big! BTW, no jewels or Tomer :)

First round pick.

My buddy married a girl from LA and moved out there (like everyone who marries LA) around 10 years ago, and took business school/ Real estate classes at USC. His study partner? JP Losman (also a former first round pick).
He recovered

BOTH fumbles in that game, did he not? Massive plays in Giants history.
Under the radar plays

but the Giants likely don't go to a Super Bowl without him.

I think this picture is from the Falcons game in that playoff run. Thomas is in the back, behind Cruz.

A lot of beer got spilled

at a restaurant in Rochester when he recovered that muffed punt. I jumped out of my seat and knocked the table silly. It was an expensive night...
Give him a hug for me

NFC Championship game.
I think he was a 2nd round pick for Washington. Always a good special

Teams player. I thought he could have been given more offensive chances. He retired in his prime but didn’t want to deal with concussions and debilitating injuries. Changed his mind briefly, but you have to respect a guy who chooses health and family over the money.

Amazing that he retired at 25 and is now just 36.

I hope he still follows the Giants. Sounds like he is proud that he played for them.

I was sooo relieved when he recovered that

I was exhausted watching the Giants not move the ball and seeing Eli get pummeled. When Thomas recovered the fumble, I finally felt like we could win. We didn't have to move the ball.
2nd rounder from Mich State

Drafted by WAS. Never took off as a WR but was a solid special teamer, returns too.

Seems like a lifetime ago
I was at that game!

When he recovered that fumble, I knew the game was ours. Great celebration among Giants fans, inside and outside the stadium.
He is still a huge fan and very proud...

To post a picture you need to upload the picture to an online picture hosting site. I use imgur, but there are many, imgur is free. Then you get a link to the picture and post it in between two image tags like below. Before you preview it should like like my example and after you preview it should show the picture.

there is an example if you scroll down to the bb code section below.

Crazy how big football players are right?

One of my best friends is an Eagles fan & one of his friends is a fellow Giants fan 🤮🤮🤮 The Giants were in Tampa to play the Bucs in Daniel Jones rookie season. I brought both of them to the team hotel with me to meet the players. They were both shocked at how big NFL players are. When they're on the field they're mostly similar sizes so they don't stand out, but when they're around normal people they really stand out.
Just rewatched the hilights from the 49er's game.

I didn't realize he had recovered both those fumbles. He earned a place in Giant's history for sure.
2 great plays great memories!

We would have lost that NFC CHampionship game without him, no question in my mind.
Yes, Thomas recovered both fumbles

Just as important was him noticing that the ball bounced off Kyle Williams' leg.
