What kind of lazy reductionist argument is that? Thousands of artists across a hundred subgenres and cultures "lacks drive"? What does that even mean? Your argument is weak. One might say it "lacks drive".

Oh noes a triggered Bieber/Swift fan!
Man 30 years ago the most popular musicians on even pop music stations were talented musicians.
but that doesn't mean there aren't talented artists out there. It's just a different breed these days. There's less money in the business or at least there's less money in the record business which means less record producers hanging out at every club, stage or hole in the wall looking for talent.
And it sucks because the world is riff with tension. There's plenty of inspiration out there but in my view the musical creativity has been sapped from the average teenager or young adult and been replaced by social media nonsense.
Truly the downfall of mankind, or at the very least--music.

It is pretty frightening for the kids. As Napoleon said “Music is what tells us the human race is greater than we realize.” And Nietszhe said without music “life would be a mistake.”

Rock and roll has gone the way of Jazz.
It just doesn't take much talent to become popular with music these days anyway. Songs from mainstream radio in 2009 sound like Beethoven compared to what I hear on the radio for about 3 seconds.
How somebody like cardi B became famous people and people actually listen to her on purpose it's just mind-boggling.

Yup, that's it. I just like FM pop music. Can't be that your argument is lazy and that there are no shortage of incredible bands and musicians around if you take the time to look. Lazy, get off my lawn argument. It's not even an argument bc there are no ideas to back it up. It's just a stupid statement casual music fans make because THEIR day, boy howdy, THEIR day was the BEST for music!
One of the worst hot takes I have seen on here. Popular music, sure. ALL music? Jesus, that is bad.
In the past few weeks alone I've seen Fontaines DC, Bright Eyes, NIN, Orville Peck, and Sigur Ros. Even if it's not your cup of tea I'd like someone to explain how it "lacks drive". I'd still like to know what in the hell that even means.
I sure wasn't :) But as far as athletes go, I don't give a shit about their musical abilities, or their politcal feelings or anything else. All I care about is whether they can play winning football.
A song has elements to it - melody, chorus, bridge, etc.
That shit had a guy freestyling (used generously) over a backing track recorded by an amateur camera man. Hopefully there’s someone in KT’s life who can level with him. There’s no music talent here.
RE: RE: RE: RE: There's a decent amt of hip hop and rap

The number one song 30 years ago this month was Mariah Carey, and earlier this month 30 years ago was jump by kriss kross.
The daddy Mac did in fact make you jump jump, but come on.
I don’t like most music that comes out today either, I just chalk that up to being old.
Lots of trash music when I was a kid too, but I like it because of nostalgia.
30 years ago there were definitely dark harbingers of things to come like Cyrus and Krisp Kross. I would throw in Bon Jovi, Cinderella, White Snake... But now every act is that bad for decades.
I can't finish that. There are a few artists who do the autotune thing to perfection, and that is their stick. But for the most part, autotune is a dead give away that the artist in question has no vocal talent, and I find it very hard to listen to.

" if it's up then it's stuck"
Spellbinding lyrical content there.
That is what you are hung up on in this day and age? Ok, I am with you. If it it's up, then it's stuck is pretty dumb.... But come on man! There is much lower hanging fruit!
Enter one Doja Cat: "Bitch I'm a cow"....
WITH french fries hanging out her nose throughout the whole video! And this is what sprung her from obscurity to world wide fame! Mooo I guess....

His type?? What does that even mean? I know how you explained it but say what you really mean. Wow, he makes rap videos instead of classical or rock and plays football but his infrequent rap videos make him a football liability? What are you really saying?
I remember it was 2018 and I tuned into the Giants game late and the first thing I heard was that awful Panic At the Disco song after Odell threw a TD. Yuck. With the Eagles as defending champs and the Giants playing another irrelevant loser game, life couldn't be any worse.
I hope not.
Oh wait, somebody got their feelings hurt, over that !
Oh wait, somebody got their feelings hurt, over that !
If he can ever find the endzone, sure, play his songs. Under those conditions,I hope they play it 15-20 times.
But that was lyrical garbage.
That should cover it.
I thought that was his day job.

All music sucks bad nowadays.
Lacks drive is the best way I can put it.

If that's his day job as football approaches...Then chalk up another great pick by Gettleman.
That should cover it.
and he's sadly one of the better players on the team

What's funny here is that your comment is not far off lol
The winners here tend to get bitchy if you don't like Ed Shereen's garbage music or don't adore Justin Timberlake's sweet dance moves.
Side note: Isn't Justin Bieber like Two Face now or something? What's the situation?

Yeah I don’t think anyone would argue about Mariah Carey vs Kadarius Toney.
High hat cymbals and auto-tuned vocals.

I'd pay $1000 for her to kick me in the head.

That is a mainstream personality on the radio. I think I heard the song maybe once or twice and rolled my eyes.
