The Yankees have trailed at some point in 39 games this season. Their record in those games? 21-18. Seriously.

Out of 18 losses, the Yankees have lost only three times by four or more runs. In two of those three, the game was scoreless after seven innings. The only game they've really been blown out in, after seventy games, was the 8-1 loss to Minnesota.

It's not 1998 that this team reminds me of, it's 2009. That team pulled out a number of improbable comebacks just like this one, and every time you thought they couldn't do it again, they did

Good call, definitely agree. Losing track of the amount of wins this season where I've thought to myself they would have never pulled that off last season.

Hicks pimped the hell out of that home run. Love it

For a guy who boasted he would hit 30 to do that on his 3rd of the year in the fourth week of June is pretty ridiculous. Did the same thing on his 2nd two weeks ago. I have to ask, did he hit the pitch, or did the pitch happen to hit his bat :)

He needs to produce a little more consistently before acting like that. I'll take Judge. He hits one 440 and just starts running to first.

Holy shit. I’ll bet you’re a real blast at parties.

The dude just hit an enormous game tying HR against their intense rival, Why is it so hard for some of you to simply enjoy the moment and get off your pathetic soap box? Also, if you watched the entire sequence, that look on his face after hitting it was more of a sense of relief type thing where he’s thinking “jeezus, it’s about freakin time I got ahold of one”.

Please forgive me. I’ll get off your lawn now…
again, bitching about Aaron Hicks is so May
Greg from LI : 6/24/2022 3:53 pm : link
As I said earlier, he's hitting .300/.391/.450 in June.
I don't care what player it is,
Kmed6000 : 6/24/2022 4:05 pm : link
that HR was huge and he can pimp it out all he wants against those douches.

Hicks>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Gallo

They have to get an Of and move on from Gallo. They have to.

Hicks and Gallo are the second coming of Maris and Mantle. We're lucky to see a combination this good again

I know, but my point is that it seems unfair to have both. We should bless someone else with Gallo so they can be awesome too.
At least Gallo is gone at the end of the year.

That's what it looked like to me too. It was kind of a goofy look, like I can't believe I just destroyed that pitch in a crucial situation. He said in the postgame that he didn't feel the contact of the ball on the bat and that only happens when you hit it perfectly. Anyway - I didn't take it as gloating directed at the Astros.
You guys might get a kick out of this

I was in Louisville yesterday and went to Churchill Downs for a few twilight races then back to downtown and took in the Bats game vs the Cubs AAA team. I’m sitting Cubs side and hear now batting Jackson Frazier. I said to my friends he looks just like Clint. Is that his brother? My one friend laughs and tells me no, that’s him and he wants to be called Jackson now.

For the record he played like shit and looked like he had no interest in being out there. Struck out a couple of times and I saw no hustle in the outfield from him at all. He really just looked like a guy going through the motions.

I would not be surprised if soon he’s either sent farther down, outright released or he just hangs up his cleats on his own. Guy showed me absolutely nothing even remotely positive last night.

As others have mentioned, the Yankees signed Hicks and Severino early to avoid the free agency drama and then injuries ruin things.

However, it looks like both players have regained enough of their old forms to be useful players through the rest of their contracts. Which would be a tremendous lucky break for the team.

I hope that is the case, as well. Need to see more though to be 100% confident that Hicks is back.

Yeah that was about as good as it gets. I like the emotion he showed too.

Early on this year I thought maybe his head just wasn’t in it anymore and he was just going through the motions. I was wrong about that and. glad he seems to be finding a way back to the player he was before the injury.

If he gets back to that it would be a huge boost for this already fantastic team and having his D skills in LF would be big.

Top of the 5th, runners on 1st & 3rd. Beltran: “Castro is going to do everything he can here to score the runner on 3rd.” Oh wow.
GIANCARLOOOOOOO!

shockeyisthebest8056 : 6/24/2022 9:23 pm : link
They could throw the ball in the same spot 5 times and it would be 3 strikes and 2 balls.

Yes. He has no control of the strike zone..
Aaron had two great pitches

How about Thursday night with Gleyber's eye?: "You really want to have your good eyesight when it's a 3-2 count." What insight. He's brutal.
Funny but I got sort of
section125 : 6/25/2022 6:54 am : link
a pro-Astro feel from Beltran's replies too. I think maybe he was trying to be neutral. But when asked how to get Altuve, he side stepped the answer.

.

As someone posted the previous day, why is Beltran even doing this series is kind of absurd...on to the game, have to give it up for Verlander, the man still has it. It wasn't the Yanks night, get them the next game. Cole needs to give the Yanks a good effort.
