I highlighted Victor Cruz yesterday and thought it only right to pay homage to his running mate. Cruz was the star of the 2011 season, but Nicks was the undisputed stud of the Postseason. His connection with Eli wins us the Packers game. It’s so easy to forget about Nicks amongst the insanity that was Cruz, but he played absolutely brilliantly down that final stretch.
Tragically like Cruz, his career was taken from him in the 2012 Bucs game. Watching him not pan out on multiple teams completely sucked. Another player who was capable of residing in the NFL’s upper echelon of wideouts had injuries not occurred. Salute to Hakeem Nicks!
Also lower the volume on this video package. I hate these highlight packages that don’t include the original commentary, but I couldn’t find one for Nicks. Still an impressive 25 min of a guy who’s career only lasted a few years!
Hakeem Nicks Career Highlights - (

So dominant as a WR. Loved the way he abused Terrance Newman in primetime. Damn, why couldn't he stay healthy.
Steve Smith, Kenny Phillips, Terrell Thomas, Hakeem Nicks, Victor Cruz, Jake Ballard, and probably many more...all guys who could have been a solid foundation, all basically lost after their first few seasons due to injuries.
Add in the dumbassery of Plaxico Burress and Jason Pierre-Paul, plus the ones nobody will ever know about for sure in David Wilson and Chad Jones. If the Giants had even moderate injury luck, the last decade would have looked very different.
The Giants lost the game but Nicks put up a couple of awesome TD catches to keep things very close, and did it against the All-Pro CB Charles Woodson no less. Recall Woodson respectfully "tipping his cap" a bit to Nicks also because he knew Nicks was turning into a seriously good WR.
Nicks did it as well during those entire playoffs.
