Just heard Yanks and Judge have come to an agreement on his 2022 contract. They settled at 19 mill plus a couple of incentives. 250K All Star MV, 250K if WS MVP. Why it took so long to bridge the gap I have no idea, but this is great news and bides a little better for their upcming negotiation in Free agency after this year
He is face of the franchise right now and the extra money that comes from being a star in NYC plus the legacy I gotta think he chooses to stay. Yanks are cashing in on him now
Some team like Mets or Giants offer 10 years I think the Yanks let him walk. I think the Yankees offer tops 8 years.... but will pony up on annual salary to make him highest paid player annually....
Will be interesting to see what happens..of course I hope he stays...avoiding arb is a good sign,
