NFT: New York Yankees vs. Houston Astros - Game 3 - 1:05p

arcarsenal : 6/25/2022 10:35 am

Would love to see Cole do what he did to the Astros last time he faced them in Houston. Bounce back today.
I would like to see the Yankees work the count a little more

Swinging at everything the past 2 games
0-0
GruningsOnTheHill : 6/25/2022 3:06 pm : link
but I guess because they have 0 hits today and they haven't done much in the previous 2 games, it somehow feels like they're in a 5-0 hole.
Extremely disappointing job by the offense today.
Dave in Hoboken : 6/25/2022 3:14 pm : link
Being no-hit this late in the game is pathetic.
Pathetic
section125 : 6/25/2022 3:25 pm : link
Absolutely Pathetic. Stanton looks at a straight FB down the middle.
Ugly, ugly ABs
shockeyisthebest8056 : 6/25/2022 3:27 pm : link
And Torres cannot stopping
section125 : 6/25/2022 3:28 pm : link
swinging at balls over his head.
This is the 1 team that is gonna be tough to get thru in October.
Dave in Hoboken : 6/25/2022 3:30 pm : link
Bein no-hit by them at home isn't exactly changing my mind on that. This is brutal.

Has a very 2009 Angels vibe to it. We knew we'd have to finally beat those guys to get to the WS. I have a feeling it's gonna be the same this year.
Yankees will set the record for most wins in a season

sucks but it's my gut feeling.a
We need a Horace Clark moment from Gallo.

Unreal that the Astro's are still the better team.

So if the Yankees don't sweep every team, they're worse than them?

It literally isn't. And they're about to be no-hit in their second loss to them. Yankees play great against all of the other teams, but they have trouble with the Astro's. Not exactly something new, either.

1 run yesterday. Zero hits today....Coney was pretty angry about it.
Also, credit to Cole today.
Dave in Hoboken : 6/25/2022 4:12 pm : link
He was great in Tampa in his last outing, and great today. He deserves credit because he gets beat up on when he isn't great. Too bad the offense didn't show up for him today, though.
Watch a fastball go right down the middle in a hitters count
shockeyisthebest8056 : 6/25/2022 4:18 pm : link
then swing at bullshit.
Don’t worry

Embarrassing shit.
shockeyisthebest8056 : 6/25/2022 4:25 pm : link
It was like watching the recent postseasons the past two days… nobody can hit a fastball to save their lives. You know it’s bad when the only person who came close to doing anything was Gallo.

Ugly.
They got no-hit.
Dave in Hoboken : 6/25/2022 4:25 pm : link
Yikes.
we may have scored a lot of runs this season...
guitarguybs12 : 6/25/2022 4:26 pm : link
but I still think the lineup as a whole isn't that good.
No Hit
NJLCO : 6/25/2022 4:27 pm : link
Not one ball hit hard either. 1 run in 18 innings
Tomorrow they better make a statement

Judge has been the only consistent bat. Rizzo has been solid. Stanton does his red hot or ice cold thing with no in between. Torres and DJ have decent numbers.

BA isn’t remotely the end all, be all, but only 3 guys are batting over .260 and 2 of them are Falafel and Trevino. Eventually you have to be able to make contact and put the ball in play.
Well Men...
GruningsOnTheHill : 6/25/2022 5:25 pm : link
things could be worse: they could have gone down 1-2-3 in the 9th inning on Thursday, instead of having that great comeback. If they win tomorrow, it's a split series vs these asswipes, and they will wrap up a tough 13-game stretch with a 9-4 record.
That was a bit embarrassing
Carson53 : 6/25/2022 5:36 pm : link
I would say. How about a little offense, rather than offensive
looking swings. They need to get a split now.
They need to bring up Andujar and DFA Gallo
adamg : 6/25/2022 6:32 pm : link
Andujar won't get on base like some guys, but he'll put the ball in play and get some XBH. That wouldn't hurt us right now.
And I'm not a fan of second guessing these types of things
adamg : 6/25/2022 6:35 pm : link
But I would have preferred leaving Trevino in to hit and subbing Carpenter for Gallo.

Gallo did hit the ball 115 mph so it's definitely a hindsight being 20/20 thing. But that was my thoughts as the game progressed.
Is there a more useless player
Doubledeuce22 : 6/25/2022 7:43 pm : link
Thank Gallo in the entire league? It’s time to DFA him or see if you can get anything for him. Why not bring up Florial or Andujar at this point? Literally can’t be any worse.

Some of these comments SMH. I’m sure the Dodgers are relieved knowing they won’t face the Pirates in the post season.
Astros are legit

and we better respond tomorrow. Today was hot garbage.

Yeah, because the Pirates are to the Dodgers what the Astros are to the Yankees. Great analogy. I was annoyed earlier during the game (what Yankees fan wouldn't be?), but I'll say this. There is no team in the NL that worries me as a Yankees fan. In the AL, there is only one team that I think could beat us in October, and that's the Astros. They can beat us, and we can beat them. It's a toss-up. But unfortunately, the Astros are still legit. Our offense can't score 1 run in 18 innings against them (and get no-hit in one of the games in the process) if we face them in October. That's for damn sure.
Where is Horace Clark
xman : 6/26/2022 12:19 am : link
when you need him
seriously - we've had a great season so far - and
Del Shofner : 6/26/2022 12:25 am : link
I thought Thursday night's win against the Astros was the best win of the season so far - but you can't look at Friday and Saturday's games and not be concerned about the ALCS. The Astros are very tough for us to beat.

My point is just because the Yankees lost two in a row doesn’t mean they can’t beat the Astros in the post season. The fact that the Pirates swept a three game series against the Dodgers doesn’t mean the pirates are the better team. It just like some fans have a defeated attitude when it comes to the Yankees and the Astros. Have faith.

Fortunately I missed this. But same for today's win. Glad for the first, but not the second. Yankees lose a no-hitter? Impossible but it happened.
