Eli briefly talks about his QB Camp and his thoughts on Jones
By my fifth year, I had been in the same offense the whole time, I knew it, I could coach it up, new guys are coming in, I was speaking the same language as my offensive coordinator and as Coach Coughlin, and kind of preaching the same stuff, and with [Jones], it’s all new, and it’s learning, and he’s consistently trying to learn and learn and learn, and it just takes some time before it all sinks in.” |
… I think it’s worth pointing out that by Eli’s fifth year, he was already a 1x Super Bowl Champion and MVP.

Think his ceiling is top 14
Idk if that’s good enough to move forward with but that’s what the season is for.
Good health on offense sure wouldn’t hurt.
I think he will have a mildly surprising pretty good yr, similar to yr 1 with less turnovers.
I'm pretty sure everyone who posts here has made up their minds one way or another on Jones. Game 1 2022 is 78 days away.
Anything stated by Eli not true? It s certainly not an advantage to be safe n his 3 rd offense in 5 years.

I wonder how many of these guys in the video post on BBI

You’re going to wait a long time for Go Terps. He sounded like he’s done, at least for awhile.
Who needs Goterps.

Do this and Jones will at least carry the team to respectability and they can draft a better QB when one is available.
Nothing short of a Herculean performance can save his position on this team moving forward.
I don't think the Giants will win a lot of games this year even with Jones, but I think that BBIers will see that Jones is far from the worst starting QB in the NFL.

Begins with The Entertainah, and Baddog shows up at 3:37 or so. I didn't recognize anyone else.

The "best case" for the Giants is that they stay very healty with Thomas, Glowinski, Neal, Jones, Barkley, Toney, Shepard and Galloday (big WR redzone target) stay healthy on offense and defense Williams, Lawrence, Thibs, Martinez, Jackson, McKinney, Ojulari staying healthy as well. These are our key guys, I think, and must stay healthy for a shot at 9-8 as our schedule is weak.
But if we win say 6 games only losing a lot of close ones early due to a new system and not meshing yet well we get a Top 10 pick QB cause that means Jones walks perhaps to a decent UFA contract that lands us a #3 comp pick. Same for Barkley. Why spend big money on guys who haven't brought you wins? 9 - 8 we may keep Jones if he is the reason we are winning.

Any consideration on how Jones' play has contributed to being on his third HC?

Right. It's fascinating reading the posts who don't accept how multiple coaches in 5 years will mess up anyone's trajectory but just condemn Daniel Jones' progress. I'm not a Jones' believer -- he needs to read and release to his receivers better without hesitation. But I do give him the fact that multiple (not overly great) offensive managers can't have helped his development. Give him steady guidance; focus on thought, delivery, and ball protection. Jones will be okay in that scenario. Daboll may be that guy.

At the point Jones was hurt last year, Judge was a shoo-in for a third year. So I'd say - at least as far as Judge is concerned - Jones' play had no impact on Judge being let go.

Ha! GT's abject 2nd minion beat you to it by almost an hour, SFGFNCGiantsFan
I'm no dyed in the wool DJ supporter by any means: he has so much to prove to show he can improve his game. Obviously a make or break season, and it seems most of BBI, hell, even mittenedman is on that bandwagon, is hoping like hell he breaks, like Humpty Dumpty. But, by default, discounting the 'excuses' to zero weight is pretty crazy, as if they are of no force or effect whatsoever.
I think even more than seeing DJ prove wrong those who have buried him as total bust--and I am the farthest anyone can be from a DG apologist: I revile the man and his regime as GM, and I believe that a good deal of the hatred of Jones may be those posters' conflating hatred of DG--I'd love to see these cocksure posters proven wrong.
I don't dislike DJ. Again, he seems like a good kid & a hard worker from all accounts who puts in the time to succeed. And I hope he does! I hope he becomes an elite QB in this league. I just don't see it happening & I think the odds of it occurring are slim to none.

Didn't a mod run Go Terps away? That's unfortunate.
QBs ruin coaches' reputations just as often as the other way around.

This is spot on. Daniel Jones is a coach killer. Quick sand if you will. Let's hope Schoen/Daboll understand this and move on quickly when they can.

So right bro, Judge and Shurmur are lighting up the league now that they have been freed of Jones.
