Especially when the MLBTV ads say get 'every' out of market game. That's a lie.
yea this is embarrassing for mlb
Eric on Li : 6/26/2022 12:36 pm : link
at least when apple gets the games you can watch them. should be mandatory that for streaming services buying these one-offs they at least offer a free stream. ridiculous to screw over mlbtv subscribers and local subscribers at the same time.
kinda funny we had to deal with those..
Italianju : 6/26/2022 12:41 pm : link
saturday mlb.tv blackouts for games on fox for years, finally a year or two ago, whenever it was, they stopped that. Just to immediately start new things that do that, ha. I actually have peacock (need it for Premier league) but this is def annoying for people.

People should just get used to this though, i know it sux, but sports are one of the last places advertisers can get live eyes and therefor more and more companies want a piece of it. The leagues are just realizing they can make all this extra money with these little one off deals. And look people will say this is absurd, your screwing the viewers, etc.. but they are banking that we arent going to stop watching the Mets all year cause of this, and they are prolly right.

The last thing MLB needs is a fan to get frustrated, go out and enjoy a nice summer day and realize they are quite happy missing some of the 612 games…

the marketing guy wasn't any more brilliant than any terrorist taking a hostage with a list of demands.

it's an insane amount of greed and chutzpah from mlb to do partnership deals that allow both their local and paid subs to get shaken down like this.

Baseball is a dying sport. When I was a kid, baseball was fr and away the #1 sport. Now, I don’t even think it’s #2. One would think that in a major market like NY, with a likable team in a pennant race and a good chance for a subway series, they would do what they can to increase eyeball ratings. I don’t anyone who has Peacock and I can’t see signing up to see them play the Marlins in the middle of the day. Unbelievably shortsighted but par for the course with the baseball geniuses.
i'm just worried that

as we approach closer to the critical part of the season the MLB will flex rivalry games or critical matchup games to the highest streaming service bidder to collect more revenue.

An that could include some of the expanded playoff games.
Here is a streaming link
BigBlue in Keys : 6/26/2022 1:26 pm : link
https://www.streameast.xyz/mlb/miami-marlins-new-york-mets-15/

Click the play button, if a new window pops up close that new window and hit play again.

It's a bunch of BS that you buy the package and don't get every game. The internet streaming is hard to get used to, especially for the non computer people, but you can watch every game for free usually with the option of the home broadcast.

that's beside the point. let a national carry the game, or mlb network, or like apple mandate they carry the games free. their app will still get the exact same exposure.

dont let a third party (peacock) shake down your existing paying audiences (local and out of market).

he's had a couple of big hits and around that a lot of 0fers.

he has a .228 OBP in the month of June. 75 at bats and 21 k's. That's pretty awful.

I wonder if they consider giving McNeil some 3B time in addition to the OF.

Ottavino got tagged on all 3 batters there. Annoying loss with the bottom 1/3 of the order once again coming up small.

Vientos was pulled from the Syracuse game today, cross our fingers it wasn't an injury.
And that's the problem with Ottavino

he and the syr manager got tossed for an overturned HR/foul call. just call the guy up already. The month we just saw from both JDD and Escobar is an embarrassment to power positions.

Controversy here at Frontier Field, as LeCroy argues after a Mark Vientos shot down the LF line is initially called a HR but has now been called FOUL. SYR skipper Kevin Boles comes out and is gives a piece of his mind to the umpires, and now he's been tossed. @PickinSplinters

Dan J. Glickman @DanJGlickman

Vientos eventually struck out. He then threw his bat, his helmet, and let HP umpire Sam Burch know certain things. Now he's been tossed, as well. Wings lead 2-1 in middle of 6th. @PickinSplinters

The #Mets went 1-for-13 with runners in scoring position today. There’s the game right there.

not sure how much of that was the bottom 1/3 of the lineup but i'll bet it was at least half. Escobar and McCann were 0-2 in the T-9th.
here you go, today's hitters w RISP
Eric on Li : 6/26/2022 3:05 pm : link
Team RISP: 1-13
Davis 0-1
McCann 0-2
Escobar 0-2
Guillorme 0-2
Alonso 1-2
Lindor 0-2
Canha 0-2

considering Lindor single handedly won game 1 and Alonso game 2, i think we can fairly give them a break.

the bottom 1/3 of the order has been a disaster in June.
some numbers for the month of June
Eric on Li : 6/26/2022 3:12 pm : link
in 21 PAs Nick Plummer is slashing .000 / .048 / .000 for a -82 wRC and K'd 43% of the time.

Escobar is .227 / .228 / .413 good for a 80 rc.

JDD's hot start buoyed him to .254 / .338 / .339 for a league average 102 rc but that's still not good for a DH. and he k'd 35% of the time.

Guillorme also cooled off as you would expect to a .246 / .313 / .262 for a 75 rc, but hey he wasn't going to hit .400 forever and he still makes plays every game in the field.

the other 3 (and Dom) have not deserved the playing time they are getting in any facet of the game. regardless of who they decide to give them to they can't just continue trotting them out every day the way they are.

I think he has lost some bat speed. Gets beaten by the two seamer a lot.

Yes - it sucks its extra but I'll pay whatever to see my Mets - I live in ATL and am planning to go to 7-8 of the 10 games here...

HOWEVER - The Peacock crew of Jason Benetti - Cliff Floyd and Tommy Hutton was entertaining knowledgeable and ridiculously watchable - their chemistry was amazing considering this is a one off thing - I think they use Benetti as play by play but switch out the color guys depending on the teams.

Floyd played for the Mets and Marlins and is currently an analyst on MLB radio and Hutton who was a color analyst for the Marlins until 2015.

Yes. We need a real DH. I can live with Escobar and hope he hits a streak but you can’t have both him and JDD (and Nido) in the lineup. We are wasting wins with them at the bottom of the lineup. May as well just have the damn pitcher bat again.

Is Escobar your new player to pound on when the going gets rough?

Games I’ve watched he’s made some pretty nice defensive plays and had a few clutch hits but stats prove me wrong so my bad.

Well, then you are watching different games from everyone else. Because he’s been pretty poor in the field AND at the plate.

Who else have I pounded on? Or was that comment just to deflect that you were wrong and couldn’t just say so?
its doesnt matter I admit to being wrong, its fine.

Escobar is disappointing
Vanzetti : 6/26/2022 10:40 pm : link
He started off so well and he is very sure-handed in the field.

But way too many brutal ABs in crucial situations. They either have to give Vientos a chance or go to an Escobar/Guillorme platoon at 3B when McNeil comes back
Escobar has had some nice games, for sure. So has every other
CooperDash : 6/26/2022 11:14 pm : link
player in this lineup. Even the worst of the worst. Good - that’s their job. But when you have to hang on a couple of games out of 70+ as your “evidence”, it’s not a good start. His cycle was 3 weeks ago. I think we can stop using that as an example now.

And in the field, he’s also been disappointing given what he’s been billed as. He’s not an albatross out there but also not great.

It’s great that you like him. He could be a great guy but nobody here knows him, so who cares. I have nothing against the guy personally, but as a player he is a constant disappointment. And that’s a hard fact to argue.

Cool that he hit for the cycle, tho.
