Headed down to Long Beach Island for my daughter’s dance competition next week. Looking for any recommendations for restaurants (on the water preferably) and things to do with teenage kids. We are staying near the actual competition in Manahawkin but plan to spend most of the downtime on and near the beach. We’ve never been so any recommendations are appreciated.
Thanks!

On the island you obviously have Fantasy Island - lots of shops, rides, and an arcades.
There are various places that have jet ski and kayak rentals if you are looking to do something on the water
For food off the island, you can't go wrong with Mud City for seafood and Old Causway for more american/steakhouse casual food.
For italian, we love Maneras. For Pizza we either do Brazzis or Piertros.
On the Island there are litterally dozens and dozens of great restraunts.
Ship bottom shellfish is great for seafood/takeout, or you can go something nicer like Harvey Cedar Shellfish. Daddy-Os and Hotel LBI have great rooftop bars.

Haven't been myself, but my parents just went to Bird and Beatty and loved it.

You cannot beat the atmosphere at Bird & Betty. Food is better at Parkers and The Black Whale. Tide Table Group owns all three spots along with Mud City and Old Causeway. They do it right! I basically pay Old Causeways rent payment LOL. We are there about every week 52 weeks a year. My favorite spot down here.
Pietro's owner was my next door neighbor in the 2000s.
I almost got into a fight with him 3 times.
The black whale is the best restuarunt on LBI, same owner as Mud City Crab House.
A lot of those restaurants on LBI are overpriced and not that great, not worth the wait if you ask me. The Blue Water Cafe just south of Acme is pretty decent as well.
Of course, there's the Chegg. They do have new owners and did expand so who knows?
I have worked on Long Beach Island since 2010
