Aug 29, 2019 Since people have been demanding I review this show forever, I figured it was time to take the plunge and get it done. Pour yourself a drink or two and let's get into The Boys.
I love watching it with my wife. She is always like what the fuck is going on? Then when a new episode is out she is pumped to watch it. Lol.
There's a funny short where Jensen Ackles talks about working out like a demon when he was cast as Soldier Boy. He told Antony Starr about it and Starr said, "Dude, you could have just had them add more muscles to the suit."
is by far the most entertaining and smartest take from the deep well of super hero mythos I have ever seen.
Highly recommended but be warned it pulls no punches. And some will not like it for reasons left unsaid. You'll find out if you watch it.
In a recent interview, Karl Urban said that by Episode 3 of Season 3, the prop department ran out of blood. That should give folks some idea of what the show is like.
Yes, season 2 wasn't great but they came back with a bang this season.

That does annoy me when I see this stupid suit on Homelander and his neck looks like a toothpick.
My only dislike is I feel like they try too hard for the shock value. Like the mini guy climbing in the other guys pee hole and tickling his insides. There is always scenes like that where it’s just like, c’mon you don’t need to be that over the top. I mean I laughed for sure, but it has an air of trying to hard.
RE: It’s a really good show. I watch all the seasons.

but I laughed my ass off when that dolphin flew through the windshield in season 1.
I'm going to start season 2 over tonight. Thank you BBI for reminding me to get it done.
is a legendary character. Karl Urban absolutely kills it.
Absolutely. Not sure if I’ve seen that actor in anything else. But every scene he’s in I always think, “this guy is a star” with tons of potential for future work.

- Eomer in Lord of the Rings
- McCoy in the Star Trek movies
- Main Russian assassin / villain in The Bourne Supremacy

Wow, didn’t even realize he was in Rings and Star Trek. But now that you mention I do remember him as McCoy in Star Trek.
might be the scariest character (human or otherwise) I've seen in fiction. Every scene he's in has the potential to shift from mundane to shocking in the blink of an eye. Starr's portrayal of him is impeccable.

Hands down the best thing about this show is Starr. The character is nowhere near as interesting in the comics.

Sorry if that’s a spoiler.

I thought season 2 was meh and went haltingly into season 3 - but glad I did.
