Strike!
He got out of this mess. Pitch count is up near 50 after 2 innings. Looks like it'll be a bullpen get away day.
Cortes starting getting hit because teams were focusing on his cutter, he adjusted and mixed in more pitches.
Mike Mussina said the something along the lines of "You'll have 10 starts with everything working, 10 starts where you're off, how you work through the remaining 10 starts determines what kind of pitcher you are.
Paraphrasing I cannot find the quote online yet.
I'm probably on a no-fly list somewhere
I forget how many wins, but they've only lost once.

Yeah you are right, they have only lost once and the wins are crazy.
56-20.
Pretty unusual that despite having been swept, the A's actually out-hit them over the three games.

The Yes post game report said it was 26 wins and one lost
With the plane travel and everything - must be exhausting. They are doing so well notwithstanding. Have to like this team.
Just looked up the standings - 13 games up on the Red Sox. Still think the Blue Jays are better than Boston.
Another split with Houston will be fine by me.

If the Yankees play .500 ball from here on out, they will win 99 games.

Gonna be difficult to split. It’s only one game. Lol

Thought it was a 4 game series? Ha, looked at the schedule with a Thursday game and ooops.
Thanks - Guardians next.

Can't split one game :)
The Yanks have a pretty favorable July schedule. 2 games in PIT, 3 games against CIN, 3 against BAL and 4 against KC.
But, there's also 7 against the Sox. Great opportunity to just bury them to the point of no return. Get them 15+ back by the end of the month.
Aside from the BOS games, there's 3 vs. CLE and then a DH vs. HOU and the 2 games vs. the Mets.
No reason not to win close to 20 of these 26 games.
They miss Verlander, who pitched against the Mets yesterday.
Yes it is very difficult to split one game, haha.

Very favorable schedule.
Looking forward to tonight's matchup vs HOU. Servino lost last week to these guys but he pitched well only giving up a few runs but all from one big hit.
