Anonymous executive suggests a 3 team trade that would send Kyrie to the Lakers
“You could do three teams, Kyrie to the Lakers, Gobert to Brooklyn, and Russ to Utah, with the Jazz probably buying him out.”
Everyone seems to be trying to bail the Lakers out with these trade suggestions. Nobody wants Russ. The Nets and Utah could pull that off without bailing the Lakers out. Wouldn’t the Jazz rather have Kyrie than Russ? Why would they want Russ?

this makes sense so it's basically just KD picking CP3 or Kyrie.
and then the nets figuring out who will take Kyrie if it's not phoenix because they need to move him before the KD deal bc of lux tax.
i think the mavs make a ton of sense because cuban is aggressive and they can save the nets money sending back dinwiddie, some spare parts, and some picks.
that makes more sense than a russell westbrook and picks deal. unless there's a 3rd team willing to take westbrook which is doubtful.

I remember reading that & thinking someone made it up because-even for Irving's standards-it out sounded bonkers. But then I saw the clip...
Then when he opts into his contract on Monday, he drops this gem: "Normal people keep the world going, but those who dare to be different lead us into tomorrow"...like WTF is he even talking about?
I love KD as a player, but him going to the Dubs was THE weakest move I can recall in sports. It was pathetic. Then he was apparently miffed when people didn't give him love for winning it all in '17 & '18 with GS.
RE: SFGF kyrie is just pissed brooklyn isn't max'ing him
When I even think of the moron words come to mind that I can’t repeat. He is disgusting. I hope he gets traded to Russia. KD is just dumb as a rock for wanting anything to do with that walking clown show. Both of them can get the hell out of this town.
How is hero Duncan Robinson and 5 picks better then
By the way I’m not all that impressed with bam abedayo, why do people act like he is some superstar. Like holy smokes if Miami includes bam it’s a done?
How is that better then RJ, reddish, mcbride, the 3 1st rounders we just got, the Dallas 1st rounder and 4 of our own first rounders.
I would do it in a heart beat. We will end up getting another superstar during free agency next year
They have Durant under contract for the rest of his prime. If they don’t find a deal they like, I bet they play hardball and dare Durant to just pout for 4 years.

Durant might be the most thinned skin professional athlete of all time..if he's stuck here and sulks, he'll start shitting on anyone, especially on twitter, who even jokingly breaks his balls...

Highly doubt it, it will be a non-stop toxic circus. Just look at Ben Simmons in Philly and that pales in comparison to what it would be if the Nets didn't budge with an actual star player.
That said I'd love to see it, and it would get me to follow the NBA next year.

It's a choice, but good luck getting players to want to go there in the future if that's the choice they want to make. If you can treat KD like that, what would you do to me? is the message that sends.
Irving and Simmons...talk about some off the wall teammates.
Fans like to blame nba players but I don’t care what guys like Durant dictate or do. If you’re good enough and can dictate where to be traded if and when your team shits itself why the hell not? Fans are just mad but we’d all do it if we could. Plus it’s hilarious.
Ps no player ever demanded a trade off the Knicks. Just saying.
Fun day for Knicks fans. Rejoice.
Oh and lol at anyone who thinks the nets wouldn’t sell off the entire franchise along with Durant for Zion. NO isn’t moving Zion so forget that noise. Guy is goi BFF to be one of the many faces of the nba for the next decade. He was hurt last year. He won’t be hurt for long. Beast.
i don't think it's a forgone conclusion he gets traded but id bet on i
i think the nets knew this going into how they played things with kyrie.
before the boston series i'd have said no chance, but based on how poorly kd played you'd have had to be blind to not have some concerns for him carrying the team to a championship going forward after that. especially if the #2 is kyrie since he's so unreliable. kd played his 4 worst games as a net by far, and had he played even 50% to the level he'd played vs. Milwaukee they sweep boston. he averaged 5.5 turnovers and shot under 40%.
bostons D on KD gets overrated as an excuse in my view because milwaukee was throwing everything they had at him too, including PJ tucker and middleton. with a supporting cast doing nothing and no kyrie.
if everyone bought in harmoniously (ironically as harden did in Philly) im sure they would have run it back with Simmons but once kyrie decided to do what he does best i think they said maybe the best move is a reset. those pick swaps were out there either way and if KD just isn't the MVP level player anymore in a year or two (or already) then they'd really be stuck.
i really like the phoenix deal depending on how many picks they can get back. Ayton is 24, Bridges is 26, Simmons is 26, Claxton (who they just resigned) is 23. Bruce Brown is 26 and i think they will bring him back. nowhere near a contender but maybe 1 or 2 of those end up pieces to build on and if they recoup enough picks they have ammo to add. Ayton and Simmons were 1OA picks for a reason. I'm a big bridges fan going back to nova though.
I think its fair for an athlete to do whatever is best for him/her. But I don't also have to enjoy what it does to the product.
There's just something really offputting with the way the NBA operates now and its starting to materialize in the NFL as well. Sports aren't ending because of it, but for many fans it just isn't as enjoyable to watch happen and really cheapens the competitive nature, IMO.
Agree with the hilarious comment, though. Its good for drama, which is about all I watch/follow the NBA for these days.
which is weird bc i thought the nets had the right to match and he got a very reasonable deal.
loved brown on the team they had--- could afford to have a non shooter-
but for the future he doesnt fit unfortunately- and they traded for white who can hit 3's more consistently for that role of sorts

i see that side of it but add the first round pick oneal cost, and dont you prefer to keep that and the guy 3 years younger? browns shot was developing, i think he shot 40% vs. boston including some big ones late/close. i'd have kept him over patty or claxton too. the stage they are entering it seems imprudent to let any young asset walk even if the fit isn't perfect.
Read a round table piece in The Athletic this morning
about potential landing places for KD, most of regurgitating what we’ve heard elsewhere - PHO for Bridges, Aston & picks the most likely scenario - but I thought their trade scenario for Kylie was interesting.
Kylie and a 2nd piece to LAL for Westbrook and ‘27 & ‘29 1st’s. Westbrook with Simmons and Aston would be one of the worst shooting line ups in recent memory, but you dump $47M in salary next year. I’d do that in a heartbeat, as much as I hate to help LA.

Kyrie, not Kylie, what a weird auto-correct.
great NBA players have more leverage than great players in othr sports
Because you need to have a top 10 player to win a championship. It pretty much cannot be done without a top 10 player or two/three top 15 to 20 players. Only NFL QBs enjoy this kind of leverage.

Durant is going to be 34; and I'm not convinced he's going to be as productive as LBJ as he enters his mid-30s and beyond. He doesn't look like an athlete who spends time building a better, more durable body.
So, I think this is a blessing in disguise for the Nets and they should cut bait on this failed experiment with KD and KI.

it's only a blessing if the Nets get back an insanely talented player or recoup the picks and talent they lost when trading for Durant.
We shall see about that. Usually teams never get back enough when they traded away the best player in the trade.

The Nets acquired KD via sign-and-trade (they could have signed him outright) and they received a protected first-round pick in the trade (which did not convey). DeAngelo Russell went the other direction (from BKN to GSW). The Nets were not going to keep DLo anyway, and they gave up no picks in the Durant "trade."
So it shouldn't be especially hard for the Nets to get more back for Durant than they gave up to acquire him.

without Bam, the Phoenix offer is clearly a lot better.
both teams are KD away from winning rings so it all lines up unless some other team goes crazy.
but considering Ayton was already rumored to the Nets, him + Bridges + picks seems like a no brainer for all involved.
I think phoenix could actually salary match it by including cp3?

honestly as a net he's been loyal to a fault to kyrie. that's been his priority over everything including basketball.
kd was no drama extended in october and if not for kyrie he would have stayed in brooklyn for his last few good years.
he's only asking out now bc kyrie went scorched earth and he wants to have a shot to win in his last few prime years.

If Ayton is part of a KD deal, what the hell would the Nets want with Gobert? With Simmons, that would be the worst offensive team in a decade.
