im not sure im rushing to trade young possible stars for KD. He is 34 and just got swept out of the playoffs in the first round. Im not saying he isnt a great player, but this isnt prime KD anymore. I think MIA and PHX make sense, but i dont think the Nets are going to get the package that people might expect when they hear "Kevin Durant traded"
this is just another team, now, that Kyrie has destroyed.
I have to imagine one of Durant's key reasons for this ask is Kyrie. You just can't depend on or trust this guy when you really want to chase or win a championship. Which Durant clearly wants...
Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hunt him. Because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight.

Miami can trade 3 future first-round picks (plus Jovic) *if* they amend the lottery-protected 2025 first-round pick they owe the Thunder to remove the protections. I triple-checked this with @BobbyMarks42
and a few league execs.
However, the Bam thing really makes a deal tough for Miami to pull off.
I still say the Nets can get the best packages from New Orleans or Memphis of teams that could be contenders with KD.

Don't give Durant a pass. While he isn't Kyrie.....you make your bed, you sleep in it. Durants ego did this.
the nets will take the best package. But this is Durant. If he says im not playing in NO, which he could easily say, then NO isnt going to trade for him. We see stars force themselves out of town left and right, contract or not, durant is literally doing it right now. So the Nets will be stuck with wherever he is willing to happily go. This is how the NBA works. I know MEM came up before so i could see that, but nobody seems to like playing in NO so i cant imagine he ends up there.
I'm just thinking of teams with a good young piece and picks. I don't like any package Phoenix can put together, but Miami could possibly do something with Bam and Herro.
Just saw this. So Miami can't trade Bam

The Nets are not allowed to acquire a player like Bam Adebayo from the Heat because of the Designated Rookie Extension rule.
You cannot have 2 players acquired via a trade that were signed to that type of extension.

maybe don't trust a guy who's clearly unreliable in the first place? Bottom line is that Durant chose Kyrie over Steph and company because HE wanted his own thing. He's an all time great, but nobody ever accused him of being smart....
GSW isnt trading for KD. They dont need KD and he bailed on them. IM sure they enjoyed watching him struggle in BKN while they won another championship.

I get the point. Durant put his friendship with Kyrie over all of the intel about Kyrie's checkered past. But they are friends and he obviously bought what Kyrie was selling. And Durant got duped.
How is hero Duncan Robinson and 5 picks better then
By the way I’m not all that impressed with bam abedayo, why do people act like he is some superstar. Like holy smokes if Miami includes bam it’s a done?
How is that better then RJ, reddish, mcbride, the 3 1st rounders we just got, the Dallas 1st rounder and 4 of our own first rounders.
I would do it in a heart beat. We will end up getting another superstar during free agency next year

calling him a victim here is being too kind IMO. But it's probably best not to analyze this guy too much. At the end of the day, he's a weirdo who gets high all day and argues with teenagers on twitter.

Can beat a golden state offer of wiggins, kuminga, moody, wiseman and 4 picks
No way. GS is ideally positioned for the short and long term. They can contend for the championship for the next two-three years (assuming health); and they have enough young pieces to prepare for life without the big three.
For the Nets its now or never. He's 34 years old, already had a significant injury and carries a ton of mileage. You don't want to wait a year, if he gets hurt again his value significantly decreases.
Kyrie they'll probably trade for a bag of basketballs at this point.
The Nets knew once they played hardball with Kyrie this may happen and behind closed doors I'm not sure how upset they are. They gave these guys everything they wanted and they couldn't even make an ECF.
If you're not going to win with them (which I've felt for awhile) better off trading them and starting over.
Betting odds shift on Ayton to Nets happened a few days ago
if he was friends with Jimmy Butler instead of kyrie they have 1 or possibly 2 rings right now.
i also don't blame the nets org, we had 2 fun years and it was a joy to watch KD play at the level he did. he delivered. 1 shoe size smaller and he keeps Giannis from getting his ring.
i've always been a big bridges fan so that phoenix package works for me. don't love Ayton, but collectively it's a good enough team to not get too worked up about the houston trade and pick swaps. they will likely bring back a bunch of picks too.
whatever happens as long as someone pushes kyrie off the flat edge of the earth im happy. is there a more unlikeable modern athlete in nba history?
Denver is reportedly making a strong run at Durant with Michael Porter as the centerpiece.
Good luck with that. Immense talent, likely won't have a long career due to his health.
Denver is my ideal landing spot for Durant from a strictly basketball lover POV. Him and Jokic together would be poetry in motion, Jokic would get KD the easiest looks of his career.
But yea, MPJ ain't cutting it due to the health concerns. Not to mention he's another questionable personality and I'm sure the Nets are sick of those type of players.

Fuck the Nets and Fuck Boston. Kyrie is the man.

Bunch of clowns who just wanted the keys to a franchise

That's fair.
But I can absolve Durant more than Kyrie.
Nets can't get Simmons on the court.
Why would they risk taking another high-risk player like Zion, who seems more interested in eating than becoming a great basketball player?

Brooklyn already has Ben Simmons.
Unless Simmons goes with Durant...

Zion looks to be in amazing shape right now
Why would GS do that? They just won the title and Wiseman didn't even play. Awful deal for them.

That's a great KD description right there

I wouldn't even consider that Knicks trade.

Ok. lol. Enjoy another 30 win season.
I'll drive and pick up Durant myself.

Somebody knew. And per NetsDaily today, Durant has in fact specified Suns as preferred destination.

Deandre Ayton to the Nets
is a thing, betting odds dropping fast.
And the talk is this would mean Durant to the Suns.

Aayton, Bridges and some firsts is probably as good of a haul as you'll get. No one is trading a young star for Durant at his age.
Good luck with that. Immense talent, likely won't have a long career due to his health.
I'd take Bridges and a ton of draft picks.

Don't kill the messenger, have just heard Denver has been very aggressive on Durant and they have some assets.
I agree. It's very off-putting. The whole draft night thing and their salary cap calculus also drive me bonkers.

The Nets should get Spencer Dinwiddie back for the culture.
Towns edwards and Durant would be a shit ton of fun.
Saw a comment that Windhorst just predicted Kyrie as the one going to Mavs or Lakers.
