So the Braves' Adam Duvall is a finalist as an outfielder for the MLB ASG.
Adam Duvall who has the 4th most strikeouts of any player in the NL, is 24th out of 26 qualifying players in OPS at .645. A .205 Batting Average and .270 OBP.
He has 0 steals and one CS.
This might not be the greatest year for star OF performers with Acuna missing a lot of time and Juan Soto having a very down year (still much better than Duvall's), but to purposefully vote for one of the worst offensive players to start the ASG is idiotic.
I'm a complete Mets homer. That doesn't mean I'm going to vote for James McCann to start at catcher.
Any other completely non-worthy guys stick out?

A player with horrible stats being voted in........
Remember those cards you used to punch at the game?!
Meanwhile, nothing to see here with Jeff McNeil (not a finalist), just leading all 2B in the NL in batting average (3rd in the NL overall) at .323 and an .837 OPS.
The fan vote is horrendous.

Oh how bourgeoisie. Bill, I only got to go to the farm team games every now and then.
I used to bring tons home from the game and plow through them with an awl. Mike Pagliarulo may never have been an all-star, but it wasn't for lack of trying by 15-year old me.
Andres Gimenez got snubbed. He's having an excellent season.
Most have not regularly followed even half of the league's best players and rely on reputation. Managers have to be political too, as if they don't choose some of their own players, they have locker room issues.
MLB usually has no idea of the right way to do anything.
Just have an entertainment night game of those voted in, but don't call it an All Star game. Then have an end of season select choice for each league where you take the top 5 at each position (based on numbers, not "name value"), have a vote, and then have a public All Star show to introduce the winners of the vote.
Thanks buddy. Albies also doesn't belong.
And if the answer is other fan bases are apathetic to the all star game to even bother voting, than who actually cares what Braves fans are doing?

First I would like to start off by saying Fuck you Jim. Secondly I agree with you I think that's embarrassing that Duvall of all people is actually receiving votes. He was a great pickup last season but he's off to a bad start this year. Had it not been for the emergence of top prospect Michael Harris in CF the Braves outfield situation would be in much worse shape if Duvall had to remain the starting CF.

No he doesn’t. The only Braves that should be in the AS game are Max Fried, Dansby Swanson, Austin Riley, Travis d’Arnaud, and AJ Minter. Acuna Jr.’s number are good enough but he missed too much time. Also a case can be made for Kyle Wright and rookie pitcher Spencer Strider.
I really don’t care at all about all star games but I can guarantee that the majority of the votes were cast by excited 12 year olds.

Because of the number of years the Braves were "America's Team" being on TBS and broadcast all over the place, even nationally...I really don't think you realize how broad the Braves' fanbase is.
The Braves are very probably the most popular team in Florida, both Carolinas, Virginia (yes), West Virginia, Tennessee, Louisiana, Kentucky, Alabama, Mississippi, and I could go on.
Ted Turner is responsible for that.
And yes I realize that Florida gas two MLB teams and yes, I don't think it's even close.
The all star game is a joke now. 100 players make the team
