NFT: NBA - Brogdon traded to Celts for...

Mike in St. Louis : 7/1/2022 2:10 pm
Daniel Theis, Aaron Nesmith, Malik Fitts, Nik Stauskas, Juwan Morgan and a 2023 first round pick.

Celtics are also expected to sign Danilo Gallinari once he clears waivers...
The East (except for the Nets, lol)

seems to be getting better, Miami is a sleeping giant though. If they land either Spida and/or KD, it's wrap for the East.
The Knicks timeline doesn’t match up with the twilight of KDs

career, so I’m fine watching his pathetic attempts to ride the coattails of other great teams before that man-child packs it in.
people seem to forget

They still gotta make it healthy through 82 games. Nothing is a wrap even if they land those guys, plus their depth wont stay as deep if they do
Agree with hitdog....

If Middleton was in that Boston series, I think Milwaukee wins it. And hell, I think Bucks repeat if Middleton wasn't injured.

Milwaukee is a bad matchup for Golden State (really seems more appropriate to say Giannis is the bad matchup).

Middleton point is forgotten by many but to get a very good player in Malcom Brogdon for basically nothing puts Boston in the driver seat.

I don't get this trade by the Pacers, you really couldn't have gotten better value for him?

How many games will Brogdon miss this year? Great deal for Boston when he plays, but the guy is made of glass.
Great pick up for Boston...

... at a very low cost.

The Celtics already had a roster that got them to the Finals. Now they're dipping into the luxury tax and really going for the title... they'll have the best defense in the NBA (again), more veteran depth, and Tatum & Brown are just entering their primes.

Overall, Brogdon has missed one out of every three games in his career and the last two seasons were among his worst. There's a reason why people in the Knicks free agency thread stated that they would have been very disappointed if he was end result of our off-season

They acquired him to put them over the top in the playoffs, not to carry the team through the year. The Celts have plenty enough to carry them throughout the year. They will manage his playing time accordingly and ramp him up to be a force in the playoffs.
