He must be measured by his contributions in the NFL, specifically for the NYG. Who cares what he could do in college. He was pretty much a zero last year.
and you we should have a heavy compliment of DC matchup nightmare issues. All 3 shifty enough to create open lanes and RAC on any of the larger CBs/S/LBs in the league. It should be fun how Dabs and MK draw up plays for the 3 of them.
To give Kenny Galladay (a 2021 flop) a ton of money, dumped your leading receiver (a tight end) - Engram, your go-to guy (Shepard) is coming off a season ending no contact injury; the rest of the corps is full of also-rans ...
And your best hope is a rookie with good (but not eye-popping college stats), I'd call that receiver needy.
The point of the thread - put KT in a place where he can do most damage, coming out of the backfield with blocking and in space with dump-off passing, not on the L.O.S. where he will receiver hard press coverage.

We also don't have a solution should Golladay go down.
I'm thinking WR is going to be one of our top draft priorities next year along with center and possibly RB because I'm pretty certain this is going to be SB's last season in blue. And I'm not bringing up the Jones thing for the millionth time
Including Slayton and Shepard, the top 5 receivers consist of 2 true WRs (Slayton, Golladay) and 3 slot receivers. The skill sets of Toney and Robinson are compromised if they play WR. Only Shepard has been shown to be somewhat productive as a WR.
Even with a lot of pre-snap motion, you end up with 2 slot receivers playing at the same time in a 4-wide grouping. That’s not a grouping you want to have as your base offense. If Slayton becomes a cap casualty, the imbalance is even worse and either Shepard becomes a WR full time or one of the lower-ranked receivers becomes a starter.
1. Shepard starts out on the PUP list.
2. The Giants will try to trade Slayton, but if they can't, they'll release him.
A productive WR corps needs their key players to stay healthy, of course. With Golladay and Toney, that's unfortunately not a given, but we'll see what happens this year. Fingers crossed.
The Giants didn't spend a 2nd Round pick on Robinson to not make him an integral part of their offense, so I expect him to get a ton of playing time. I also expect him to line up all over the place, like Toney. I'd like to see just how creative Daboll and Kafka can get with these two.
My hope is that one or two of the unheralded WR's currently on the roster can step up. It's a war of attrition, and no doubt we'll need reinforcements at some point in the season.
Ok, some good points, but let’s look at the positive and at least “as likely”
Barkley in his ability to stretch a field adds a dimension. Tony and Robinson like very talented and omnipresent gnats And these three provide a YAC potential that’s rare and lethal. Shep and Galloway seasoned and capable vets.
We have a running threat at QB and that twin edged sword keeps the defense in zone.
Slayton returns to his rookie form and his speed keeps the defense honest.
Give them reasonable health and good coaching and 80% of that potential and this is a dynamic and varied group capable of home runs in bunches.
We have a lot of guys who can work in space
If the OL can have meteoric rise to average - we should be ok
And, all of our receivers seem to have problems staying on the field - between them we may have had one whole receiver last year
hopefully W'an Dale starts a reverse trend on this

In 2021 - 37 receptions, ZERO touchdowns; anything we get out of him is gravy ...
I think that's called pathetic; total team TDs - 15. The Ram's Cooper Kupp 16, all by himself.

Toney rushing attempts - Two; hardly a representative sample size

Health is the greatest concern. Talent is simply an unknown, like much of the rest of the team.
