The next few days things should start to heat up arounnd the NHL. Teams will be looking to get guys signed or shed salary in order to go after players in FA.
The Rangers need to make moves in order to keep some of their FA's or bring in new players.
The Islanders will look to move Bailey for sure and they have been linked to Forsberg and Gaudreau.
If you see or hear something let us know. Should be an interesting next 2 weeks.
I bet you see him after the Michigan season ends.

Yeah he has to be among the favorites for the Hobey Baker this year. I agree like Power well definitely see him in the NHL as soon as Michigan's season ends. I wonder how their season will be affected with the coach getting canned.

NYR draft pick Jaroslav Chmelar puts Czechia on the board vs. Finland at WJC. 6-toot-4 winger will be PC freshman in a few weeks
When did we start calling it Czechia? Wasn't it always the Czech Republic? Did I miss the memo?

Still Czech Republic, but in 2016 they adopted Czechia is a shortened informal name.

I've been saying this since Hughes formally announced that he was going back for his sophomore season. As soon as their season ends he will sign his ELC. It's going to be very exciting to see him on the ice with his brother.

lol, thank you.
It's nearly certain that USA vs Sweden on Sunday will be for 1st place in Group A and the way to avoid Canada until the Gold.
Sweden has tomorrow off, which is an advantage.
USA plays Austria tomorrow at 2pm ET.
USA plays Sweden Sunday at 10pm ET
NYR draftee (2022 2nd round) Adam Sykora best player on the ice IMO.

Thanks for posting.
2 - 0 USA 2 and a half min in.
3 - 0 USA, just over halfway through the 1st.
6 - 0 USA halfway through.
Canada are heavy favorites.
USA probably 2nd, but Sweden and Finland can beat anyone.
Czechs have some talent, but not much depth would need to be really good for them to make the finals.
you're welcome, USA game is on NHLN if interested.
Tomorrow night will be much different.
they used to call Canada, USA, Sweden, Finland, and Russia the big 5 because normally the winner came from them and any of them could win. And typically 3 of them would be in one group and 2 in the other. 1, 4, 6, 7 from the prior year in one group, 2, 3, 5, 8 in the other After 1,2,3,4 that's how I think it goes).
the Czech's some times can steal a game and once in a blue moon someone like Switzerland or Slovakia will beat one of the big 5, but it's rare they do more than steal an occasional game.
Mason MacTavish remains on fire with his 5th or 6th goal of the tournament for the other Canada goal.
this is awesome.
greasy goal for Berard.
I thought Raty was going to be a star heading in to his draft year, but seemed like his play stalled a little and he dropped in the draft he looks like a man on a mission in this tournament. Looks like a future star if he can maintain this level of play.
Dufour has some work to do IMO on his skating, but he has the size and the shot.
best game of the tournament - for any teams - IMO so far.
Sweden dominated for stretches, had some good chances - hit a crossbar, and USA had chances too. Only goal was a PP goal.
These are the kinds of goals they're going to have to get on Wallstedt, he's awesome.
USA up 2 - 0 almost halfway through the game

Canada vs Finland is tomorrow and that game should be good too.
but with no Russia, it's really a 4-team tournament (barring an upset)
3 - 0 USA
3 - 1. under 10 left in the 3rd (plenty of time)
QF game is Wednesday.
I also understand this is a funny tournament with likely more missing players than usual for top teams. But still, USA hockey is fire right now.

Absolutely. Many of the players who would have played in this tournament in December are not because it's so close to the opening of the NHL season.
Canada up on the Fins, 3 - 0.
Bedard all over the Fins. Othmann with the 1st goal for Canada.
Final games tonight to determine seeds.
USA already clinched top seed in group B, they play Czech Republic (4th in Group A)

Chlemar also, no?
Quote:
ejected for kneeing. He and Sykora (Slovakia) both are NYR prospects who have been kicked out of games here.
Chlemar also, no?
Chmelar was also ejected but I don't consider him a prospect. I guess he probably is.
