NFT: Insights on Suburbs north of Orlando

jcp56 : 7/7/2022 12:48 am
My wife wants a second house in Florida. We want to stay off the coast (our primary house is in a coastal area) and are looking for a single family house on at least 1/4 acre lot. We are looking at Orlando as there is plenty of things to do, and close to an international airport.

I was looking at Winter Part, Altamonte Springs, and Maitland and some suburbs just north of Orlando. I want to cap at $600K or $700K, so suburbs like Windermere to the west of Orlando are likely too high.

Anyone live in the area and have any insights?

It is fantastic. We moved down here from Brooklyn about a year ago and are loving it. In that price range you are unlikely to get something that is move-in ready. Most properties selling in that range are knock down and rebuild jobs. If you go to Maitland or a little more North into Seminole County (Casselberry, Altamonte Springs, Winter Springs), you would have a better shot at getting something close to move in ready in that price range. Seminole County is very pretty. Lots of nature if you are into that. Good luck.
Lived in Winter Springs for a few years,

Tuskawilla is a nice community in Winter Springs built around a gold course. Houses in your range, near 417 for easy access, and you can get to the beach in like 30-40 minutes
Thanks for the feedback. I'll add
