I liked him @ UCLA, though there were ?s about his love of the game. He came from family of means & there was a lot of doubt if he had the fire to succeed in the NFL.
remember so many banging the table for him that draft. I wanted to trade back for Nelson. To be honest I saw nothing special in any of those 2018 QBs, though Allen has proven me wrong. I figured Rosen would at least have a career as a serviceable backup, but to see him fall off the face of the earth the way he has? Very disappointing
In that particular Draft, if the Giants weren’t going with Rosen or
any of the other QBs then Gettleman needed to get out of that #2 spot for highest value offered. Those spots are for teams to pick QBs when several hot prospects are on the board.
I will always wonder what good deals DG passed up or didn’t honestly consider because he didn’t know what he was doing.

Jets traded up with the Colts who fell to 6 overall and also added two 2nd rounders and a 2nd in 2019.
Either way, the top guy the rumors were hot on was Bradley Chubb. And Chubb also has not lived up to his draft status. Draft is a gamble, always will be.

DG you imgrate should have drafted a guard at 2 or a 50% completion rate QB! - bbi now
And the alternative to Jones isn't too hot either in Jax Josh Allen. Likely much better alternatives than The Young Jokester although I forget who the "consensus" bbi pick was at that spot (besides just sticking with Parsons).
RE: In that particular Draft, if the Giants weren’t going with Rosen or
Gambling, only 17 regular season games, etc. One of the things that fascinates me is the randomness of the draft. I have no idea if Josh Rosen would have wound up a quality starter in the NFL if he went to Chiefs or the Bills or the Eagles. Teams with quality coaches and/or OLs. I do know Rosen had no chance in AZ and Miami. I wonder how Joe Montana would have done if Phil Simms was drafted by Bill Walsh and Montana would up on the 1979 Giants.

Yeah, he should've taken that third rounder from the Cards and moved back to number 15. Clearly a hot market for Rosen that year.
DG you imgrate look what Hershel Walker got! Who knows what sort of market there was for a Darnold either besides dumbass Jets and bbi's imagination. I don't think the number 2 pick was that hot that year without a blue chip QB/LT/ER.
I would not have used a 7th round pick on this piece of trash.
On a scale of 1-10, his Intangible score was a 0.
Intangibles make up 50% of a QB prospect's draft grade.
Therefore, 50% of Rosen's draft grade was a 0. Which made him an UDFA level prospect.
2nd lowest Intangible score I've ever given to a QB prospect - the worst was Jamarcus Russell, who I gave a -1 Intangible score (on a scale of 1-10, with 1 being the absolute lowest).
By contrast, on a scale of 1-10, I gave Josh Allen an Intangible score of 11. He broke the Intangibles scale. Highest Intangible score I've ever given to a QB.
Remember - When it comes to Draft QBs...Intangibles make up 50% of their draft grade.

The alternative to Daniel Jones was GB Rashan Gary.
Rashan Gary led the entire NFL in Pressure Rate in 2021.
He was the 4th best prospect going into the 2019 Draft.
He's currently a Top 5 pass-rusher in the NFL. A much much better player than JAX Josh Allen.

A March 2022 telling us who was on his big board 4 years before he became a member. Yeah, OK.
I liked Rosen in that draft, but not with the 2ndd pick, I didn't like any of the QB's all that much. I do think in the right circumstance, he can do well. This will be his last shot, so let's see if he can make something of it.
Fairly decent rumor floated around the Gettleman passed on
a deal with the Browns to move from #2 overall to #4 and would have yielded two extra second round picks. He passed because Browns wanted to grab both a QB and Barkley, and DG didn’t want to lose his Hand of God RB.
Those picks were at the top of RD 2 and would have given us a much better opportunity to rebuild that core 4 years ago than wasting that valuable draft slot on a RB. I think it would have given us the first three picks in a row for RD 2…

Josh Rosen:
1) Didn't even like football. He liked what football provided him.
2) Was hated by everyone at UCLA - including his own teammates. The only person at UCLA that liked Josh Rosen was his girlfriend.
3) Was a spoiled, entitled brat from a rich family. A pompous jerk who thought he was smarter and better than everyone.

Rosen will be 3rd string and injury insurance or could outright win the backup job to Jacoby to start the season.

Hehehe.
Agree with JVM, I think it will be about 8 games as well, eventually reduced to 6.

^^^That earns you a 0 Intangible score on a 1-10 scale.

I had a UDFA Grade on Josh Rosen.
I repeat: Undrafted Free Agent.
Rosen was toxic trash from the beginning.
I hope you're a troll, because this is ridiculous. How the hell would you know what "intangibles" any player has? Did you interview him? His teammates? His coaches?
I look forward to your "big board" before next year's draft. Note that I said "before", not 4 years after the fact.
Which brings up an interesting question - you've been here since March, where the hell was your "big board" for this year's draft? Hiding your golden nuggets from us heathens?

2) Was hated by everyone at UCLA - including his own teammates. The only person at UCLA that liked Josh Rosen was his girlfriend.
3) Was a spoiled, entitled brat from a rich family. A pompous jerk who thought he was smarter and better than everyone.

I will always wonder what good deals DG passed up or didn’t honestly consider because he didn’t know what he was doing.
Josh Allen was a blue-chip QB all the way.
He was my #1 overall player on my big board.
Scout the tape - not the stat sheet.
I had Tom Brady as the number 1 prospect in his draft. No one believed me. Look who’s laughing now!

Tom Brady was a 6th round pick.
Josh Allen was the #7 overall pick, and was in heavy consideration to be the #1 overall pick even 1 week before the draft.

Many of the people I meet in person are not all that bright. But somehow everybody on the internet is a genius.
You have a dumb local neighborhood?

Lamar Jackson might have been the best QB taken in that draft.
What kind of a loser makes a ridiculous comment like this?
Josh Allen is 2 tiers above LamaRB as a QB. It's not even close.
Pick another sport to be stupid about.
Opinions aside, you seem to be a prick.
