So glad we didn’t end up with this guy. Looks so so slow. I know it’s S vs. WR, but still, I would think most starting NFL safeties can put up reasonable coverage against an UDFA.
We'll see. I'm an ND fan so I saw Hamilton every game in college. I think he's going to be a damn good pro. But I thought the same about Leaf coming out of college so...(shrugging shoulders). Haha.
One play. He's a rookie, and he's NOT a CB. There are plenty of NFL people high on Kyle Hamilton. Is it an embarrassing play? Umm yeah. But what does it mean in the grand scheme of things? I mean, yeah I'd hold off judgement for now.
and slipped to Baltimore in the first place. I don't think this is a shock to anyone- just reiterates that h should never line up in press man versus a wide receiver...if he does, his DC should be fired.
But that limitation does hurt his value a bit because he is scheme/role dependent. Hamilton is a very linear player- one he gets going, he CAN cover ground pretty well. He does well as a single high safety where can attack down hill or read & react over the top.
Actually reminds me a lot of Kenny Phillips. Kenny was a good centerfielder who could make plays on the ball and lay the big hit but I don't ever recall him walking down to the slot and playing man coverage.

Plain and simple the Giants suck. They need to hit on 5-6 draft picks this year to even field a competitive team in the NFC east.
If you have a chance to draft an impact player, you do it. Hamilton is a top 5 talent in this draft and probably closer to 1 than he is 5.
Is safety the most valuable position? No. But Hamilton is more than a safety- he creates turnovers (highly valuable) and makes plays (PBU's, TFL's, etc) that get the defense OFF THE FIELD on 3rd down- that was a huge issue for the Giants for a majority of this season and is valuable no matter where the guy lines up. And Hamilton, by the way, will line up everywhere- nickel, deep safety, in the box, as a blitzer, etc.
I'd run to the podium if he is there at the Chicago pick.

220 lbs safety is not exactly the optimum size for man to man. Jason Sehorn, a legit CB and speedster, was close in size. But for Pete's sake, 3 days into a new system, to criticize one play of 100s is pretty piss poor.
Anyway, back to the actual subject.....Evan Neal was beaten for a sack by suckass Oshane Ximines. Is anyone wetting their pants about that? Of course not, because it's training camp for crissakes.

Totally agree with this. Can't get crazy over one rep.
One play in July with shorts on?
Good players/athletes continue getting better through their craft from age 20-25
Is Neal a bust too?
Is Neal a bust too?
Obviously.
Is Neal a bust too?
And does that mean Ximines is the next LT?
*end sarcasm*

Welcome to BBI…😂
One things for sure on Hamilton. He’s not gonna waste his shot.

exactly, anyone can look bad on one play. I didnt want him at 5 or 7 but he will most likely be a good player, probably more of a hybrid LB/S.
