6 straight incompletions without a turnover breaking the streak is improvement though, right?
Something tells me that T Taylor

will probably be the starter by mid-season and we’ll be looking for a new QB next year! However, Taylor starting could take us out of the top 5 looking for a new QB. Maybe Jones should start all year after all?!🤔

One quick observation: The interior of the O-line is definitely struggling against Leo and Dex. Even Justin Ellis got some push today.

#Giants Daboll - some times in practice you just ask the QB to throw it up because you simply want to see how the DBs play that ball..

That should be effortless for Daniel Jones

INTs have not been an issue for Jones. Where do people get this stuff from? His INT percentage has fallen every year, and was the same as Murray's in 2020 and better than Murray's and Herbert's in 2021, and better than two of Mahommes' four years as a starter (including 2021). His 1.9 INT percentage last year was better than Allen's 2.3. And how much better would it have been if Engram didn't cause multiple INTs with deflections.

He had one game where turnovers were an issue last year, the Rams game when he came back from a concussion the week before (and likely shouldn't have played) when he threw 3 of his total 7 INTS. So he had 4 INTS in his other 10 games.

He also had 2 fumbles (one lost) in that Rams game (one lost). In the other 10 games he had 5 fumbles (2 lost). So in 10 games not using the game a week after a concussion, he had 4 INTS and 2 fumbles lost. For comparison, Josh Allen had 8 fumbles (3 lost) in 17 games (along with his 15 INTs). Take that to 10 games and it would have been 4.6 fumbles and 1.6 lost.

For those who have eyes, they should be able to see this clearly…..but to those who are blind, nothing you write will mean anything to them. In order not to get discouraged just remind yourself you are not writing to please that latter group, the blind guys…..you are writing to enlighten those who are walking in the darkness, but not blind (still hope).

Keep up the good work.

Right, I did not meant to come off as if I was somehow challenging that post. If we have different views, then there will be different takes. It is not uncommon for us fans to accept the view that we agree with.

I like the view that Barkley looked explosive, but I gotta see it first, and consistently.

I'm going to voice concerns over the clips I've been seeing of Daniel Jones...

He looks... Bad.

Inaccurate, indecisive and weak arm. It's really the Indecisive part that kills me the most... this guy holds the ball to long throwing against just air!!!

I am seriously beginning to doubt he will ever put it all together and I'm starting to wonder if Tyrod would be better/win more games with this team... not to mention Jimmy G

Giants worked lot on running game first day of padded practices. Saquon Barkley looks explosive.

First-team offense didn’t make many plays in pass game. Had Daniel Jones 5-of-13 passing. Only big pass play was his first pass to rookie Wan’Dale Robinson, who continues to shine.

Stop reading and start watching... clips are all over the place showing him struggle. He's holding the ball to long, throwing behind receivers, he's getting "sacked" a bunch, he gets picked off throwing simple screen passes... the list has goes and has gone on and on

Dave on the UWS : 8/1/2022 1:01 pm : link
If you guys remember from his first training camp, he was remarkably accurate, hitting guys in stride, something Eli struggled in. This was mentioned in threads repeatedly.
Besides coaching him to make tight window throws (which he did a LOT as a rookie), Daboll has to de-program Jones from Garrett's "don't you dare make a mistake" offense.
Jones may be unfixable, but Daboll is going to try to get the most out of him. I expected struggles early. Taylor has looked better because he knows the playbook having been in Buffalo.
Let it play out.

"I ask the QB to hold the ball longer and then deliver it into tight coverage just to practice that".

So we don't know what is really happening. I don't know if Jones will be good or not, but living and dying on a 2 hr practice in August, where you have no idea what is happening and why, is nuts

Exactly - not to mention those screaming to "watch the tape" are only getting snippets of a controlled practice from an iPhone without any context for what the offense is trying to do. I'm not saying DJ will be great this year, but making DJ evaluations at this point is a little foolish.

Here are Daniel Jones' ranks in completion pct through his career. And I don't think I need to tell you that completion pct is a measure of accuracy.

2019: 24th
2020: 31st
2021: 23rd

Are these the rankings of an accurate NFL passer?

would "zip it" on Jones. We know he's had every disadvantage a QB can possibly have. That's not an excuse, its a fact.

He didn't get an extension (wise decision by NYG). But jeez, let's see how this plays out a bit with the hope of an NFL caliber OL, play callers and a few weapons. If it doesn't go well, call him Dave Brown 2.0 to your hearts content. But to spout off 4 practices in? Odd.

I don't know what a "Jones stans" is but I do know that this is a useless argument on Day 4 of camp.

Maybe he's Dave Brown 2.0 or alternatively. maybe with the benefit of some NFL caliber combo of OL, weapons, coaching he's some middle tier QB e.g. Ryan Tannehill. I don't know. But let's see the thing play out a bit shall we?
