Should be a great pitching matchup:
Castillo vs. Cole
I fucking despise getting beaten by trash players
Maybe if I keep talking shit about Donaldson's place in the order, he'll keep hitting.
Hicks is working his way back into the mix. His wRC+ has slipped back below league average (99), his numbers with RISP are ghastly.
Hicks' last 52 plate appearances, he's batting .200 with a .508 OPS.

the next Yankee fan target of hate, Benintendi or Donaldson?

Yes but I have a feeling with the addition of Bader, we are going to be seeing much less of Hicks going forward
My guess is we're not going to see Bader until mid-late September. So, we have to deal with Hicks a while longer.
That said, Stanton should be close... which allows us to go with Benny/Judge/Stanton in the OF a few times a week and keep Hicks on the bench.
Originally, I was looking at Stanton's return as an opportunity to bench Donaldson more. Might need to do it with Hicks instead.
I'm calling dibs on being shotgut on Greg From LI's posse right now before anyone else can get that spot
Hicks stinks again
He played in Boston and played just fine there, and the pressure in Boston is just as much as it is in NY. He'll be fine

Even in the late 90s, people were calling into WFAN bitching about Yankees deficiencies (back then it was LF, iirc). The purge is a long ways away. But I doubt you guys can find me in BK anyway :)

rival exec on #Yankees getting Bader: "when the boot comes off he will be the best defensive centerfielder you've seen in pinstripes."

in 2023? They say SEP, but we've all seen how plantar fasciatis can take much longer.
I would have loved Lopez in the rotation.
Maybe Cole should consider not taking 45-60 seconds between pitches.
He's giving up WAY too many long balls.
My god do we need more starting pitching this offseason.
We pitch like this we wont even make it to ALCS
What a complete fucking joke.
All the fans should get their money back for this garbage.
jeebus.
I kid, I kid.
You don’t trade pitchers for a light-hitting defensive CF, period.
Look, I don’t know Bader froma hole in the wall. But, 1, is he coming back healthy this year, 2. Is Boone going to play him over Hicks, 3. our pitching staff is crumbling due to injuries and regression, why trade pitching for someone who may not play a lot or at all?
He’s not a #1
Cole has to be better than this. Period.
He needs to stop being a fucking baby/pu**y. The rumor is he likes to use the back-up catcher because he spends days before his start preparing and likes his catcher to help him (and the starting catcher is naturally focused on the pitcher that day). Enough with the baby shit. You use Trevino and you get him for one day.
He’s just soft. He threw a 3-1 curveball to the second hitter with a man on first with no outs. Unless the number two hitter is Judge or Trout, throw the ball 100 MPH and stop nibbling with bullshit. Of course he walked the guy and gave up a HR a few pitches later.
