Bobby and Justin continue PPP’s with projected rookie TE Daniel Bellinger and safety Julian Love. The guys talk about who these players are, what their strengths and weaknesses are and what they expect their 2022 season to look like.
Did we sign him after not re-signing Martellus Bennett? If so that was the worse signing in recent Giants memory.
Bennett signed fairly cheaply with Chicago, a two way TE you would draw up for Eli and a + locker room guy who really liked playing in NYC and the Giants. Of course signed with Little Bill and won Super Bowls too...
San Diego Union quoted ESPN analyst re Bellinger - very positive
“They run the ball, run the ball, run the ball at San Diego State,” an ESPN analyst said immediately after the selection. “That is their DNA. That’s who they are. He’s a dominant run blocker, but the athleticism showed up at (the NFL Scouting Combine). He ran a 4.63 (40-yard dash), vertical (jump) 34 1/2, so you know he’s a really good athlete. He just didn’t have those opportunities in the passing game.”
The kid can block. We know that. If he can run routes and lose coverage, we have our TE.

He may not have had a lot of opportunities to catch the ball, but he made the most of it when he did. I've read that he almost never dropped the ball (unlike our last starting TE).
If you combine the addition by subtraction (of the last guy) and the addition of a competent two way TE, it could be significant. Like having an amp that has a dial that goes to 11.
Question is: Can he stay on the field?
That would be The Garbage man - Brandon ambers
Seemed to get a lot of his statistics in garbage time

Brandon Meyers might be one of my least favorite Giants of all time. The ultimate garbage time stat-padder. Terrible player.
Sad the Giants have multiple “trip over their own feet” tight ends 🤦♂️
