I was just going to post something similar.
Maybe we have some similar guys in the pitching department

Not quite, he was good in the abbreviated 2020, but was bad last year and has been downright putrid this year.

His defense has also gone straight downhill. He's no longer a strong glove at short.

You're right, Greg - he had a solid 2020. Forgot about that and just went back and looked.

Every other year, though... woof. So bad.
I only remember that because I remember thinking

...."Well, maybe they should have kept him, he can still hit!"

I knew he'd been bad since, but looking at the numbers, wow. He's done.

Too bad, he's a really likeable guy.
He may not compare to 2017 Didi
averagejoe : 8/4/2022 3:21 pm : link
but how does he compare to IKF defensively ?

Love Didi. But probably no way back .

They both suck defensively but IKF is probably a hair better at this point. Calling up Peraza makes way more sense then bringing in Didi.

in 2022, not well. Didi was having a poor season in the field as well as at the plate.
they were smart to let him go. like didi alot but he's done

You should have seen social media yesterday, it was almost as bad as people harping for Brett Gardner to be resigned.

Yep. An embarrassing number of people were seriously campaigning for the Yankees to bring back Didi when they have a 22-year-old with a plus glove killing it down in Scranton.

Calling up Peraza now makes so much sense. Now is the time to see what he can do in the majors. The Yanks kind of need to know what they have there both for this postseason and for next year forward. IKF would be a fine utility guy.

It could provide a little spark, too.

The Dodgers called up Miguel Vargas a couple of days ago - he went 2/4 right off the bat. I don't know what the hesitance is, but I hope it's something they'll seriously consider and soon.
