either in Italy or the states. There are some good small batch places here, but even a mass market provider like Talenti makes an exceptional product. I’m partial to both their Madagascar Vanilla Bean and Oak Aged Vanilla, with Pistachio coming in at #3.
"Frozen custard" is also great, slightly different from ice cream. A regional thing. Don & Bob's in Rochester had incredible chocolate almond frozen custard. I'd take that over most ice cream.

Ice Cream, unsurprisingly is creamier, but the flavors in Gelato are more intense.
They love their lemon stuff down there, although I am not a fan of Limoncello
