what they challenged is that Nimmo should have been safe. So the umpires ruled that Nimmo was still out but the Mets won the challenge? Lol. I just don't get it. And neither does GKR.
challenge was one of the worst I’ve ever seen and completely goes against the actual rules. Hope deGrom can come back out strong after sitting so long while the umps too so long deciding how to get out of the mess they created without taking any blame. SMH.
I think what they are saying is the OUT call was wrong and he was safe. But if was actually called safe originally the umps think he would have still been out anyway because ATL made the throwback to second so quickly it still would have beaten Nimmo if he had gotten up and ran to 2nd.
To me that's making a lot of assumptions. Usually if the ump gets the call wrong and they reverse it he'd be safe. Good to learn going forward, always finish the play anyway. It's the type of play growing up in the back yard you'd yell ""Do over!"
The replay official said the original bad call didn't impact Nimmo's ability to get to second. Which I guess is referring to what I said above. But how can being called out not impact you?
with it. Nimmo was not far from the bag and could have gotten up and ran the extra five feet while the ball still had to be thrown all the way to first and then back to second.
It was just a bad call all around…and occurred from their own screwup. I personally feel like it was self-preservation on the umps part. Which is annoying.

It referred to fight in stands.Looks like Braves fan hit older Met fan and was knocked out after that seems Braves fans were ejected alleged assaulters were not
If that's accurate(and I believe it is), the Mets are playing their best baseball of the year.
If they win today, they'll be back up to 6 1/2 games ahead of Atlanta. This must be very very discouraging for Atlanta. They had played so well since June 1st, and only gained 4 games. That's like a dagger to their heart.

It's somewhat reminiscent of the series that the Mets played in 86 against the Cards in St. Loiue during the early part of that season. Thing is though that we play them again in 8 days in ATL for 4 games. So far, so good though!

+1. Isn't DeGrom incredible? Just set that record of most strike outs in the first 200 games.
Let’s get Jake some runs!
On we march.

For me it was running right past Pete after he scored and right into the dugout. Nothing was stopping the Vogey Train. He needs a long runway lol.
I think the plan was for him to go 6 today
I'm sorry, I spoke too soon.

And if he goes 6 perfect innings in 70 pitches?
Gary just said 6 innings, 75 pitches. Even if he’s perfect you take him out IMO.
